I was conscious only of following my fancies as a butterfly, and was unconscious of my individuality as a man. Suddenly, I awoke, and there I lay, myself again. After all, we're only human… Is there any other reason why we stay instead of leaving, after all? -from "Human" by Jon McLaughlin Fullmetal Alchemist Quotes "Water, 35 liters. Carbon, 20kg. Ammonia, 4 liters. Lime, 1.5kg. Phosphorus, 800g. Salt, 250 g. Niter, 100g. Sulfur, 80g. Fluorine, 7.5g. Iron, 5g. Silicon 3g. And fifteen other elements. Those are the elements to make an average adult human body. You can buy these elemental ingredients at the market with the pocket money of a child. Humans are made so cheaply."-Edward Elric "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth." -Alphonse Elric Al: Brother...am I scary? Ling Yao: "Haven't you ever heard the phrase 'if you want to shoot the general, first shoot his horse'?" Ed: "If you want to shoot the general, you should just SHOOT THE GENERAL! Tiny, insignificant humans...who couldn't even save a little girl. - Edward Elric Quotes from Kazuya Minekura (mangaka of Saiyuki series, Wild Adapter..etc) I dont need to believe in God to believe in myself.Genjo Sanzo Murder doesn't necessarily mean evil, right? The world being what it is, a lot of people out there deserve to die, don't they? But those who do take it upone themselves to kill others have to be prepared to have others try to kill them as well. And that's what they call the law of Karma, my friends. That's why good or bad, the only ones who are going to be left standing are the ones with the strongest wills to survive. - Genjo Sanzo Consume wine, don't let the wine consume you. - Genjo Sanzo A past will chase you if you try to escape from it, but once you confront it, it's just an old memory inside you. From the time I was born, till the day I die... I don't believe in anyone nor do i believe in God. I just believe in myself. - Genjyo Sanzo Quotes from CLAMP “Nothing in this world happens by chance. Everything that happens is nothing more than fate.” “There are no coincidences in this world. Everything that happens must happen.” “There is a meaning behind everything that happens. However, there are very few people who understand everything. To search for the meaning behind every event that happens… it’s a daunting task even to imagine it. However, noticing that there is meaning behind everything that happens… that in itself is meaningful. There is a meaning in wondering why.” Living things are restrained by Chains: The laws of nature, the flow of time, the vessel known as your “body”, and the existence called your mind. The one chain that people can wield: WORDS. - Yuko Ichihara Instead of regretting what we cannot do, it is better to do what one can. For example, what we do has nothing to do with results and so we must forge forwards. - Yuko Ichihara No matter how small the problem is, how small the thing is, it will always effect the people around you. - Yuko Ichihara Our relationship has been formed. No matter how trivial the meeting and the incidents that follow may seem, a relationship is made. Even if it is for a short amount of time, a knot that has been tied does not unravel. It means that during your lifetime, every incident that passes has meaning. The meeting between you and I also has meaning, so remember it. - Yuko Ichihara Words, once it has left your mouth, it cannot be uncalled. It cannot be nullified. People don’t understand how strongly they’re tied down because of it. But they continue to use that lock. Words are something living and sometimes, it can even tie down a person’s life. - Yuko Ichihara When one sacrifices oneself to help another, it could actually be painful to the person being helped, especially when that person is of importance to them. - Yuko Ichihara Often times, people simply deny the existence of what they do not understand, and anyone who tells them otherwise is a liar. What they don’t know stays ‘unexplained’ and they are happy with that. - Yuko Ichihara The rock, once it starts to roll down the hill, it won't stop. It will keep rolling until the end of the road. - Yuko Ichihara Sometimes, even when the heart forgets, the body still remembers. - Yuko Ichihara Everybody relates to others and shares something with them. That's why we can never truly be free. That's what makes us feel joy, sadness and love. - Yuko Ichihara "There are indefinite things in this world that remain unexplained. No matter how weird it is, mankind will always observe it. It will always be so with mankind. But it is the imagination. But it is the past. People are the world’s strangest creatures.” “Destiny… refers to an event that would definitely happen. Without it, nothing is possible. From one thing, you see, many other things can be imagined.” “For everything you desire, you have to pay an equal price in return. You can’t get more nor give more. Can’t be more or less. Must be in balance. Or else, there’ll be mishaps.” “Whether it is a meeting by chance or a major event, every occurrence will affect the future… because a man’s path of life is not only unstoppable but also never-ending. The smallest thing, the shortest amount of time, the littlest piece of record or memory… the fate that accompanies you will never disappear.” “Habit… a need to be conscious of it, and if a person does not want to get rid of it, then it cannot be rid off.” “What is good and what is bad, depends on the person.” “If you believe so, then it’s decided. If you don’t believe it, then it can be changed.” “The meaning of the world looks very broad, but it’s actually very narrow.” “The world even though it’s very small, to those who understand it… is quite large! This world… before you fully understand it, there isn’t only one!” “When you decide to do something or not to do something, it is a promise to yourself. Hence, the only person who can break that promise is the person who made it. Because no one will be responsible for another’s promise.” “Even family are still other people. Besides being related by blood, is there any other relation? Aside from yourself, everyone else is considered as other people.” “Names are very important. Names have power. It doesn’t matter if it’s living or not, once you give it a name, you embodied that person or object with the same amount of power.” “Motivation and sincerity are needed to achieve one’s goal. To pursue a thing even if the present world is lost. Even when comfort is abandoned, knowing the importance of the thing to be lost and the pain it brings though. Still yearning for it, existing for it. That is true determination.” “Being a diviner, for the diviner to correctly made interpretations to the divinations. Only the conclusion is to be told to the recipient. Anything else will not be spoken, only what you want is given. Once foreseen, and thus wanting to let others know what has been seen, no matter what. ‘You will become this’ or ‘the future will be like this’, those words… that’s not the way of things. Because divination is a contract!” “Divination is an ‘exchange’ between the diviner and the recipient of divination.” “What’s good or bad is determined by man! But, if it does not have anything to do with man, then it doesn’t matter.” “A storage room is a treasure mountain.” “Once a rolling rock starts to roll… it’s very hard to stop. The rock won’t stop after it starts to roll. Until the end of the road.” “Every wish you make, you have to pay the equal amount! There are no such good things.” “The more you tell a person not to open something, the more that person wants to open it.” “No one can be an exception… no one can be immune to everything!” “What do you mean by ‘normally’? Is there any meaning to that? As long as you don’t bother other people, what’s wrong with choosing what ordinary people call abnormal!” “Language is a complicated thing! It has multiple meanings.” “The life form… consists of many different kinds of ties. The natural patterns. The flow of time. The shell that is labeled ‘the body’. The soul that is labeled ‘the conscience’. This is the lock that all life forms share. But there is a certain kind of lock that can only be used on humans, is words. Words, once it has left your mouth, it cannot be uncalled. It cannot be nullified. People don’t understand how strongly they’re tied down because of it. But they continue to use that lock. Words are something living and sometimes, it can even tie down a person’s life.” “Words do not tie down one-self, but they tie down others.” “If you’ve decided that you can’t do it even before you act, then of course it’ll turn into something impossible!” “You don’t have to worry about something that hasn’t happened yet. If you want to regret something, wait until you’ve done something to regret!” “Anyhow, don’t underestimate the accuracy of something that’s been passed down through the generations. Humans are not the only being in this world… there are many creatures that humans are unaware of. Thus sometimes, some humans will meet those creatures and their existence, their thoughts, and the fear is passed on to others… but very few people believe in it. So they can only hide it, like a code, within… stories passed down through the generations: Ancient Traditions!” “No matter how long ago it was, losing the most important people in your life is still hard to forget. You will still feel lonely.” “From one perspective, an incident might not mean much. But, from another perspective, that incident might be quite significant. Moreover, when one person suffers an injury, they’ll often feel that whoever caused it should be made to suffer from an even worse injury. Only one who is careless would dismiss the issue as unimportant.” “Humans are a mystery. What may seem unfortunate to others might give joy to the person who is affected.” “When one sacrifices oneself to help another, it could actually be painful to the person being helped, especially when that person is of importance to them.” “If you kill someone, you have to pay the price for that life.” “The price for taking a life is heavy… it is a crushing weight. So heavy it could even kill a person!” “You are never completely on your own. No one on earth is. Everyone is tied, and share’s connections with others. That is why humans can never be completely free. It is the reason that humans feel joy and sorrow and also love.” “Humans create terrible things. Why do they make things that only bring them pain? It’s because they don’t know what’s comfortable anymore. So perhaps they don’t know that they are in pain…” “The Thing is something… whether you know about it or not, whether you acknowledge it or not, whatever exists, exists. It’s as simple as that!” “If you wish for something long enough, it will definitely come true eventually.” “There are limits to what we can do. Instead of regretting what we cannot do… it is better to do anything we can do. Even if what we do does not bring us to our final goal… it brings us that much closer to it.” “There is only one thing that can be given freely, with no need for compensation and that is hope.” “Even if all is a dream… with faith, hope, and trust, it can become real.” “To change yourself… is to change your future.” “Dreams… are all interconnected.” “It’s quite difficult to explain… something that only you can see.” “Often times, people simply deny the existence of what they do not understand, and anyone who tells them otherwise is a liar. What they don’t know stays ‘unexplained’ and they are happy with that.” “There are two types of dreams. Dreams that you see when you are awake, and dreams that you see when you are asleep. And, in either case, if you desire it strongly enough, it will become reality.” “If you wish hard enough for something, it will definitely come true.” “Wishes, you see, it’s true that they will come true if one wishes hard enough, that is the power of people’s wishes. However, if one wishes for the misfortune of others, that misfortune will return to the one making the wish.” “The one thing that can change a person is meeting another.” “Everything lives by blending, interconnecting and mutually influencing one another. Even a merely trivial meeting brings about changes of both heart and body.” “There’s no such thing as an one-sided connection.” “On the inside, only oneself can change one-self.” “The hidden world is a dream, like the truth of a night’s memory.” “There are two memories, memories of the heart and memories of the body. The memories of the heart are important, but the memories of the body are very important as well. Sometimes, even if the heart forgets the body remembers.” “It’s all right if you don’t understand. Choices are always being made. But, people don’t really notice that.” “To eat is a very important, and very pleasurable thing… but it can also be very frightening.” “Even though it is scary to know yourself, to stay ignorant of yourself is much, much more scary.” “People, you see when they must meet someone. They meet the person they must meet, because everything is inevitable… and parting is the same as well.” “Food is an expression of the self.” “Wishing can make dreams come true.” “There’s no living thing that doesn’t die. No matter how much we wish, people die.” “There are many strange things in this world. However, no matter how strange or bizarre things are, if there is no one there, if there is no one to see it, an illusion would not be anything unusual. This is because people are the strangest things in this world.” “There are a great many strange things in the world. But no matter how odd… How incredible something may be… If a human does not touch it… If a human does not see it… If a human is not involved with it… It is simply a phenomenon. Simply a matter that will fade with time. Humans. Mankind. Homo sapiens. Humans are the most profoundly mysterious living things in the world!” “Every human being thinks different things are right, and different things are wrong. Whether something is normal or not, it is still different for every person. Happiness is the same – everyone has their own definition of it.” “Everyone finds happiness differently, but ultimately, happiness is a bargain with yourself. You need two things: action and sincerity. Effort must be rewarded. If you pile hardship upon hardship, overcome difficulty after difficulty and give yourself nothing in return, you violate your contract.” “Being happy is not a right, but a duty. A duty to yourself. Waiving rights is one thing, but failing in your duty is downright irresponsible.” “To become happy, you need to pay a fair price. Which means that excessive fortune can only be viewed as a threat. You need to earn that fortune through an appropriate amount of work and struggle.” “Humans live ultimately run on a balanced budget. If there is good, there is bad, and when bad things happen there must be good things as well.” “Fundamentally, to be happy you have to bear the burden of an equal amount of misery. To get something good, you have to put up with something bad.” “It is your duty to accept a measure of happiness equivalent to the actions you have taken. Rejecting it violates your contract with yourself. If you effort is not rewarded, your soul rebels.” “Even without spirits getting involved, people can cause plenty of strange events on their own. There are all kinds of people you would consider creepy, that are part of mankind, something that dwells within all humans. People always talk about spirits as if they are frightening or evil, but there is nothing as frightening or evil as humans.” “The belief that you are the protagonist in your own life is a very dependent way of thought. Downright parasitic. It brings with it the preposterous notion that you’re the only one that matters. Even though there are six billion people in the world. And you are only one of them. Even the greatest of them cannot escape that fact.” “Losing things, losing important things, people you care about dying… that’s just normal, isn’t it? Absurd, isn’t it, that some people simply cannot understand that. Once something is lost… it is too late.” “Self-centered people prefer to control everything, to organize everything so that they are in charge to try and claim all the credit, and to give up completely if their opinion does not win out. Everyone knows this. But that is not all, quite a lot of people who seem to be quite the opposite – people who think everyone is out to get them, people who think they are causing problems for everyone else, people who doubt themselves, people who deny themselves, people who sacrifice themselves, people who abuse themselves, people who blame themselves – all of these people are also extremely self-centered." The more we are, the funnier will be. - Himawari Kunogi There are things than just by talking to them, touching them or getting involved with them bring bad luck to others. Even if it's human... no, because it's human. They exist. - Himawari Kunogi Once you notice something, you can never return to the time when you did not notice it. - Haruka Doumeki Once a boy saw a dream. Twirling, twirling, flying, flying. So happy in his freedom. The boy believed himself to be a butterfly. But when he opened his eyes, he was no butterfly, only a mere human. Then he thought to himself: did I just dream I was a butterfly or is this a dream as well? Maybe I am but a dream that is deamed by the butterfly.- Haruka Doumeki Fav Quotes from Kasumi Hoshi Nishida "The only thing wrong with reality is the lack of background music." "I lost faith in reality along time ago. Now I live in my own special place called La-La-Land," - Andrew "I suppose it can be truthfully said that hope is the only universal liar who never loses his reputation for veracity." - Robert G. Ingersoll Quotes from Serpentinia Malfoy A wise man once said: "I don't know, go ask a woman." Warning: Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot again. Be the type of woman, that when your feet touch the floor when you get out of bed in the morning the Devil thinks: "Oh, crud! She's up!" Forgive your enemies, is messes with their heads. I'm only mean to people who tell me to be nice! Curiosity killed whoever got in my way. Note to self: It is illegal to stab people for being stupid. Don't upset me, I'm running out of places to hide the bodies. Smile. It scares people. What does not kill me had better run pretty darn fast! When someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 to extend your arm and whack them upside the head. Everyday I think people can't get any dumber. Everyday I'm proven horrably wrong. I don't need your attitude, I have my own. Your a great friend. But if zombies are chaseing us, I'm triping you. I did not hit you, I just high-fived your face. I know who I am... your approval is not needed. You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same. Don't make me mad... I'm known to bite at random! When your cry, I cry. When you laugh, I laugh. When you jump off a bridge, I laugh harder. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep- not screaming, like the passengers in his car. Most teachers promote the three R's; Reading, 'Riting, and 'Rithmetic. Then there are those that promote three S's; Sit down, Shut up, and STOP DRIVING ME CRAZY!! Don't you dare tell me the sky is the limit when there are footsteps on the moon. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Bookkbaby 's thoughts on Gay Marriage: 1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning. 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed. 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans... Have PRIDE! Support gay marriage! Fav Quotes by Tzedek I told my phsychologist everyone hates me. I am a woman and I reserve the right to be inconsistent! fg7dragon 's OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE: Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered for having cultivated such valuable lessons as: knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion, or a band-aid to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son Reason. He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. Everything I Learned In Life, I Learned From CLAMP [JoinTheDarkSide] 1. If you're not angsty, you should be. TimelessTears version of Cross's story of the origin of Innocence "Alright, it's like this; back when everything was still new and Father Time still banged Mother Earth on a regular basis, he knocked her up on accident. She was excited 'cause she never had a kid before but he had other plans decided to split town and started doing Sister Moon because she was still hot. Mother Earth was pretty pissed about this and all that negative energy affected her baby. When she gave birth to her deranged child she named him Adam, but in true fashion to teenage rebellion, he changed it to the pimp name Millennium Earl. Bunch of time passed and he got bored. So he started stalking people for fun. He watched them with their families and became jealous at how happy they were. All that teenage angst built up to the point where he decided he'd destroy everything. He created an army of unstoppable machines to help him out. God saw this and wasn't havin' it, so he made Innocence to smack him and his machines back into place. Since then it's been a tug-of-war for everyone involved. The end." - Cross |
