Hello, everybody! My name is Star (short for Starling, short for Starling Blue) and you may also call me the Queen of the OCs. Because that is what I am. If OC means Original Character and not Orange County, because I've never been there and I don't watch the show. Is that show even still on? And where is the Orange County, anyways? And who came up with "Orange County"? Look out for future OC fanfics to sit proudly beside Child's Play; Pendragon, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Twilight, and Young Wizards. As well, I'm planning a series of odd little one-shot anecdotes to take place in the Young Wizards universe. Favorite Things: Whiskers on kittens...raindrops on roses..la la la... Okay, anyways. You'll never catch me posting in Harry Potter, LOTR, or Eragon. Maybe because I'm just contradictory, or maybe because I feel sorry for all the other really good authors who never make it past the 500 mark on this site; aka Diane Duane, D.J. MacHale, Robert Muchamore, Alison Croggon (does she even have a section?) etc. I'm also a big fan of Stephanie Meyer's and Terry Pratchett's. And about a bazillion other people I'm not going to list here, because I don't want to crash the server. (I have a feeling I just messed the technocabulary up.) As to TV shows; ask me my favorite, and I reply MythBusters. Which, quite obviously, is a Discovery Channel show and therefore not subject to fanfiction. A good thing, because if it was...-shudders at the thought of Jamie/Adam fanfiction- I've only ever seen one episode of House, but that's good too. And then there's the Weekenders, (a Family Channel cartoon. Leave me alone.) and...y'know, I actually don't watch a lot of TV, so let's leave it at that. No, seriously, it's true. I always use the quiet box.-laughs hysterically at Young Wizards inside joke- And movies...I liked Big Fish, and Click was pretty good, and Superman Returns. The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride are, of course, the pinnacle of good stop-motion animation. (Which is actually kind of redundant, since animation means, like, "to move". Kinda.) If they ever make a movie out of YW (which they will, on pain of death), even if they make it when I'm 90, deaf, and blind, I will go to the movie theater just to throw popcorn at the screen whenever I hear the Lone Powers' voice. Which I won't. Because I'll be deaf. I'll bring a friend along. As for shippings, which I had to stick in here because I have very...-twitch- strong opinions...I truly think I am the only YW fan in the whole wide world who doesn't support Nita/Kit (except for ReadingLuver. Hi!). Dairine/Roshaun is perfect, and I've always thought Carmela and Filif would make a really cute couple, but Nita belongs with Ronan and that's final. Other supported pairs include Bobby/Loor, Spader/Courtney (I mean, come on, people. Hasn't anyone read the fifth book? Oh, and once I saw an Andy Mitchell/Saint Dane fic. Which made me twitch. But I seem to do that a lot.), Cadvan/Maerad (It would so be Maerad/Dernhil, if he wasn't dead. Oh, and I laugh at your ignorance. Ha ha.) I don't even need to mention Edward/Bella. Meet 'n' Greet So basically this is a little place for y'all to meet my muses. I have plenty, but there are eight (most of whom play a starring role in a novel I'm writing) who really stand out. I should tell you that I and my friends write little scripts for these and my friends' muses at school, and we are referred to as the CODs(Controllers of Destiny). The book we write in is the Sacred Big Blue Book of the Order of the COD. See how weird we are. Anyhow- Dee Jennifer Oxford- a nineteen-year-old punk rock fan with black spiky hair, piercings, and a love for juggling. She's oddly spontaeneous, completely colourful, her mind connects things in very strange ways, and she can also talk to inanimate objects. In the novel, she is the victim of a few very odd coincidences that lead to her and the others jetsetting across the universe (metaphysical, mind, not, like, Saturn or anything) in an attempt to find Jack the Ripper's ghost. Moving on. Anna Natalie Oxford- Dee's twin, who is in training to become a lawyer, has no sense of humour, and dumped her boyfriend when she was fifteen to, quote on quote, "focus on her intellectual pursuits and stop following social trivialties." That's straight from her mouth, folks. With blonde hair, blue eyes, and long legs, it's a wonder she isn't completely stuck-up, but there's Anna for you. She's honest, blunt, and reads minds. the Grim Reaper- Sarcastic, eccentric, fond of business suits- oh, and also the physical embodiment of Death and a mythological figure, can't forget that. With no permanent appearence (except, of course, for his traditional work clothes, the cloaked skeleton with the scythe and all), the Grim can be a fearful thing or not, depending on how well you know him. In the scripts, he has a misplaced fondness for slang- in the actuall story, however, he...doesn't. As he's been around for 75 billion years, he tends towards the amoral. Nyx Reaper- Although she's only been around two thousand years, Nyx has a firm place in the ranks of the immortals as the Grim's partner and adopted daughter. She's constantly getting pissed off by people who refer to her as an assistant, or to Death(s) in the singular, although this is often a hard rule to enforce, since no-one has ever actually heard of her. She has an attitude strengthened by many years of lost spirits giving her lip. Like the Grim, she doesn't have a permanent physical appearence, except for her work clothes. Both her and her partner are the victim of budget cuts that sent them to live in the Midworld, and stuck them with flat 213 in the Sapphire Green condos where Dee and Anna also live. Kitty (born Katherine Glass)- Since business is hell, Hell must be a business- and Kitty is the CEO of Hell, Incorporated. She started both World Wars and single-handedly started the cats-are-instruments-of-the-devil myth. Growing up in the 1300s, she knew her catechisms by heart and in three languages, owned a rosary, and had memorizd Genesis through John- but what does she do the moment she dies? Goes down to work in hell. As a very contrary person with a fiery temper, she was sent by her boss to help out the Grim, Nyx, Dee, and Anna on their quest to find a nineteenth century psychopath's soul. Lucifer- The name says it all- the businesslike founder of Hell, Inc. is a plotting, conniving type with no last name, and only a sliver of a conscience. Although an old friend of Grim's, Nyx's, and Kitty's, he doesn't take a liking to the two mortals dragged along with the Reapers. Very rarely referred to as Satan (at least, in this century), and sometimes referred to as "that backstabbing demon", Lucifer is ambitious in the worst sense of the word. He's not all that bad, though, once you get to know him...kind of. Okay, well, yes, he's that bad. Jadith- As the goddess of books in an alternate dimension, Jadith doesn't play a part in the novel, but is just as imperious and supercilious as her brother-consort, Ansair. A beautiful brunette with a mean glint in her green eyes, Jadith knows a lot, and isn't afraid to show it, or what other people think of her. She has a bit of a superiority complex from centuries of worship, but that stuff tends to go to one's head. |
