Slight AU. Prufrock Preparatory School has been given orders by their superiors that they must hold a formal school dance to increase student relations and morale or their funding will be cut. This story begun long before the woes began and picked right back up after the sea foamed question mark. One might say to have your fate intertwined with a Baudelaire would be to have a very unlucky life, but yet the budding love was still there despite all grief and disbelief.

Quigley Quagmire: wisecracking, adventurous cartographer, boring, predictable life. At first he's harassing his siblings, the next thing he knows, his mother is dragging him toward a trap door under the library rug. After a long, tense wait, he decides to investigate, but the door won't budge. All alone, there's only one thing he can do: find a way out and reunite with his family.

Boring teachers...excessive note-taking...the sound of children's hopes and dreams dying... It's the same old story at Prufrock Prepatory School...that is, until Duncan decides to pull a gutsy move during class.

Chapter 8, the final chapter, is posted / A daring rescue mission, a developing attraction, and an eye that seems to follow them everywhere, the Baudelaires are determined to uproot every last secret of VFD. Unfortunately for them, they're not the only ones that are searching. Violet/Quigley. R&R.
