When Minato was taking Naruto from the hospital an elderly man shows up offering an alternative answer to the Kyuubi. In exchange five years of service, he will seal the Kyuubi for him. After a brief weighting of options Minato agrees and signs a blood contract. The old man just needs Minato to get him close to the Kyuubi to do the seal. Once the seal is done Minato leaves a scroll detailing his wishes for Naruto on the grounds that he will be proclaimed died. For the next few years Minato is loyal servant to the man. Naruto on the other hand is hated and abused to the point that the Kyuubi is willing to interfere with the boy's life. He give the boy the powers of the Rider as a sign of defiance. Since Minato's contract only was over five years he finishes on October 8th, he is given one last ride to get home on but doesn't use it. (From their it is the author's choice about the coming events, but i would like it if Danzou gets a Penance Stare.)
