Writing is an art form. Don't abuse it. I'm happy to help any aspiring writer grow and improve, and I'd be happy to beta-read for anyone. Flame: An immature review that usually involves a multitude of mispelled insults and juvenile threats, lacking any real point or depth and unhelpful to actually improving a story/author. Critique: A critical evaluation of a story in which constructive criticism is used in in order to help an author improve upon their writing. Learn the difference. There is no real merit in the, "If you don't like it, don't read it and don't review it! NYAH!" argument. If YOU can't take criticism, don't post your story on the world wide web for all to see and comment upon. The review system is not an instrument to inflate your ego, it is a system aimed to help writers grow and develop. If you don't like that, don't post. And if you have any respect for the real creators of the various fandoms in which you choose to write stories, you will not butcher their hard work and dedication for the sake of your own amusement. That is all I have to say. |
