Sadly, I am only in the middle of reading the Fellowship of the Ring, so my first LOTR fanfic will be by the time I finish all three. That will take, what, three years? I'm not saying Tolkien was a bad author--in fact, he was fifty times the author I'll ever be--but my vocabulary is not quite large enough to fully understand "art" and "thou".
