Dragon Age Inquisition Series...

In the Order and Chaos one-shot series…

He, broken by chaos. She, seeking order. Balance struck, fears overcome. The lionhearted learns peace in the magic once denied. The noble lady, bound by crown and birth, protected with a crown she does not want but serves just the same. Magic exists to serve man; she lights his darkness, serves the order of the world as he tames the chaos in her, grinding fear to dust. What maelstrom of mad deeds and sinful shadow seek to rend their whole asunder?

I: Let You Down

Unsteady. Never meant for this to interfere, for her to see. Promises, promises. Why does she not question? She embodies what hides beyond the haze, what he seeks to raise his shield without chains.

Premise: Set after the masquerade and through the events of Perseverance; the good commander struggles against his demons, but she is there, his ward and light.

II: What I Know of Love

I know compassion, but what I know of love is safe and solid, protecting and proud. He is stronger for it. And she? She is sanctified by it.

Premise: After the return from Adamant, their first night, the heady spiral sensed through another.

III: The Moonlit Mare (WIP, inspired by this fanart by Greendelle.)

For all her strength spent, he would teach her not to fear even as he fears himself, carried away on moonlight for respite, a darkened whisper overhead.

Premise: While scouts see out the source of Samson’s red lyrium, Cullen takes the Inquisitor for a riding lesson back after being reminded of how far they have yet to go to see them through the dark.

IV: Seeing Red

Their search only brought the shield to his knees. He would break her and she would let him if only to mend the hurts.

Premise: Set at the end of Before the Dawn where they go to confront the tranquil helping Samson to just as they ready to march on the Arbor Wilds. Here, the good Commander learns that red lyrium even in proximity is detrimental to his recovery… and his life.

V: If They Dared Part I and II (WIP), inspired by fanart being done for me by Chenria.)

For vows left sundered, renew. No more the shield than the blade, but the purpose still remains. What price shall be paid to serve the heart?

Premise: Set after the events of the Arbor Wilds - She once asked a question that he dared not answer. But two deaths bring back more pain to pull forth the one that hurts the most.

VI: Anno Mundi (WIP)

"Everything." It consumed, tendrils of flame and desire seeded with promise. Asked and given, set free - a moment to breath. To choose.

Premise: Set after the defeat of Corypheus, their time theirs alone - the commander demands an answer for beyond their survival.

VII: White Knight (WIP)

To trust. To know. To endure. I am yours as you are mine. Emptied and revived. Everything made manifest - for you, I have sacrificed all.

Premise: Set after Anno Mundi. The question asked and answered. Its end, found. But what future lay ahead and are they ready for it? How far is the commander willing to go to protect what matters most?
