I! HAVE! RETURNED!

Yo! I'm Matthew Davison (not my real last name, but who uses those anymore anyway?). I'm 18 years old, am a Private in the Marine Corps, and I can almost guarantee you've met a guy like me. You know who I'm talking about; that quiet guy sitting in the corner with his face buried in a book, who, if given even half a chance, will eagerly open up to like-minded individuals.

I'm not a perfect person, and I hope that should be clearly evident to anyone who knows me. I'm crass, lazy, perverted, and my temper can be absolutely volcanic/glacial when pushed. But I balance that out by being polite, funny, chivalrous, and an all-around nice guy that people enjoy having around. My point is that people are like...wait for it...onions (Shrek is love. Shrek is life). There is no such thing as simple black and white; we're all different shades of grey, some darker or lighter than others, and that is okay. Just be you, I'll be me, and we should all get along just fine.

I stumbled on this site soon after I completed Mass Effect 2. I had spent an obscene amount of time with that game, and was disappointed that I couldn't scratch my itch for more. But then a friend recommended I search the interwebz for fanfiction... One Google search and three words later (Mass Effect Fanfiction), and I found a site that would never run dry. The scale is what gets to me. This site possesses an entire internet worth of stories about the games, movies, books, and television shows I know and love. I can never repay this great gift.

Challenges: I've decided to jump on the challenge train. I've come to the realization that no author worth his salt has worked on a story completely alone. So, in order to actually get work done, I'm putting down a few ideas that I want to work on so badly, but require another opinion (or two...or three) to work.

-Title: Fate/Fake Existence

Categories: Fate/Stay Night; Drama/Supernatural; Rated M

Summary: The Holy Grail War; a battle royale between seven magi Masters and seven summoned Servants. For all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist save for various games, anime, and manga. So why, then, am I a Master in a war that isn't supposed to exist?!

Basically, the Holy Grail War in OUR world, where Fate/Stay Night exists as a manga. Seven(? Haven't decided on the exact number of Masters/Servants) (somewhat) ordinary people spontaneously become Masters in a Holy Grail War, with Servants from any of the Wars being summoned. The fic will focus on how the Masters and the rest of the world react to fiction becoming reality, and the Servants reactions to reality becoming fiction, all while attempting to earn that elusive victory prize of a wish. Can be considered a reverse self-insert, if the co-authors decide to use themselves.

Exactly What It Says on the Tin. The Dragonborn has already saved the world, and now he has to do it again--but with a twist! He (or she; the Character Creation can be played with as well) has access to the compass (Level Up, Items, Magic, Map), a bag of holding that increases in storage space with Stamina, no Level Cap, and, most important of all, can create Checkpoints and Load back to them. What the Dovahkiin does from there, who he/she meets, who he/she kills, where he/she goes, where he/she streaks, is up to him/her.

-Title: Blacklight

Summary: Alex Mercer flew away with that nuke willing to die to protect the human he thought of as a sister. Due to intervention from forces beyond his comprehension, however, he didn't. Now, in a strange new world so unlike his own, the Blacklight virus must find his own way in a world of heroes...and villains. The hunt begins again.

Basically, Alex Mercer survives the nuclear bomb (or doesn't and is reduced to a puddle of malignant ooze, forcing him to Consume the first poor fool to poke him) and somehow ends up in some point of the Marvel-verse timeline (either at the hands of Madame Web and the Beyonder or some other entity with the ability to traverse dimensions. Could be Zelretch, or Q, or anybody really). As my only experience with the Marvel-verse would be the Avengers series, the X-Men series, and the Amazing Spider-Man, Mercer's life would be deeply entwined with one of those arcs, or possibly all of them.

I first started this fic because I was so frustrated with how Mercer turned out in the sequel. Unfortunately for those who were waiting for an update, it had no plot worth mentioning, and I had no real motivation to continue it. So now I humbly ask you, the readers, to help me write it. As I've said time and time again, no author worth his salt has worked on a story alone. A potential beta who wants to see a Prototype fic done right would be much appreciated.

-Title: Lara Croft and the Tomb of the Fox King

Summary: Long ago, the benevolent Sun Queen ruled the prosperous kingdom of Yamatai alongside her husband, her beloved Fox King, only to lose both him and her life at the hands of a traitor. When Lara falls into an ancient tomb, she uncovers the imprisoned Fox King, and releases him. Will the Queen's rage be calmed by the return of her King?

Seriously AU. Came from an idle thought about how Hinata's name means 'Sunny Place', and too much time spent playing the new Tomb Raider (fantastic game, don't let anyone tell you any different). That led to me thinking, "Hmm, what would it take for Hinata, who is almost borderline yandere if you look at her sideways, to snap and become a vengeful storm kami?" The loss of her husband Naruto, of course.

Basically, Himiko, with all her soul-swapping evilness, does not exist. Instead, Hinata married the love of her life, and together they brought about an era of peace and prosperity to their kingdom. But when Sasuke stages a coup, betraying the man who called him brother and murdering his wife, it all comes crashing down. Sasuke seals Naruto away instead of killing him to prevent the Kyuubi from escaping, and is struck down by Hinata, now a kami of vengeance and storms. In her grief and rage, Hinata ravaged the land of Yamatai and trapped any who dared enter her domain.

How Naruto's and Hinata's tear-filled and heartfelt reunion goes, how Lara still fits into all of it, and what the displaced King does afterwards, is still unclear. Any takers must either A) have 100%'d Tomb Raider or B) be a die-hard NaruHina shipper or C) both. The end result should ideally be Lara retaining her core of battle-forged steel and Hinata finally moving on to shinkai, with Naruto joining Lara's future adventures.

(As well as that feisty Scottish bastard still being alive. He's too kickass to stay dead!)

Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Captain Obvious. To simplify it for you chuckleheads, The 4th Wall Will Not Protect You, and Zelretch proves it by plucking a Troper from in front of his computer screen, and setting him loose in The Multiverse. Where he goes and what he does is up to the the writer, but Troper should always be a form of the Plucky Comic Relief, no matter how Grim Dark the universe he's in is.
