I should be doing grown-up things. Well, so much for that. I can be found rambling on non-fictively as quiescent9 on livejournal.
(year 2009)
so that was three years ago. Now I'm 19 and I've been (regretfully) neglecting my fanfics. I'm really sorry about the lack of updates, but on a lighter note I've been rambling on at fictionpress under the same pen name.
Edit (05/03/09): Hope you guys enjoyed the latest chapter of Birds of a Feather :)
(My bio in year 2006)
A little more about me...
I'm 16 and a student from Singapore. Half the time I'm trying to study, and the other half I spend alternately thinking about (1) all the interesting stories, novels and movies I've come across and (2) the beautiful people in my life. Somewhere in between I find time to catch some sleep. (This helps to explain the terrible plot bunnies that do not listen to me at all.)
My fics...(spoilers included)
Orbs of Grey -- This was my first ever fanfic, and being young and reckless, I must really apologise that it never had a proper plot before it started appearing on a Word document. It just sprang from my love for the character Estel. One day, I shall see how I can shape a plot that is unique to this story.
Remember when it rained -- Inspired by a song sung by Josh Groban of the same title. Very much a stand-alone. I created Remus' sister so that there would be a focal point for his guilt.
Promises Cast Away -- A sort of harbinger foretelling Sirius' fall in The Order of the Pheonix. Avoid this if you can't stand the idea of Sirius and Remus having a fight and then a moderately innocent embrace in a mere span of minutes.
Oscillation -- My first full fledged slash fic, another result of a serious Remus addiction. More angsty than I thought it would turn out to be. It deals with Remus' grief and loss. Avoid this if you can't stand the idea of Sirius and Remus sharing a kiss that is enacted only in the latter's imagination.
Searching for my Shadow -- It was originally called "Help Me Find My Shadow" before it was published, until I retitled it to give the fic a more continuous feel. The relationship between Dr. Crane and Raphael (the boy) is purely platonic. The meaning of Raphael's name does count. I've tried to include side themes of fear (as represented by the shadow motif) and how a family shapes the child physically, mentally and emotionally. My longest fic so far, and also the one that I have poured the most soul into. Blame Dr. Crane's eyes behind his glasses for this one, and my interest in psychiatry. Not forgetting Cillian Murphy too, for doing a wonderful job in bringing out the character in Batman Begins.
Birds of a Feather -- Thinking about Dr. Jonathan Crane's history made me chance upon the inevitable topic of romance. Is he really capable of love, and if so, what kind of love does he share with Ethel? How did this relationship mould his character and views about love, and make him the seemingly cold person he is in the movie? Actually, this fic is still in its very initial stages of planning, and I will definitely take a longer time to update. Please forgive me for I have never attended a school in Gotham (and thus have no idea of what it's really like there), and the scenes are mostly based on my own imagination and sadly malfunctioning logic. It would help if you read Searching for my Shadow before reading this one.
Stuff/Characters that I go a little crazy over (and thus may or may not inspire future fics)
The Lord of the Rings -- Estel
The Matrix -- Trinity
The Shoebox Project-- Remus
Batman Begins -- Dr. Jonathan Crane
A.I. -- Joe
Gattaca -- Eugene Morrow
The Phantom of the Opera -- Erik
The Hours
Finding Neverland
Moulin Rougue
Before Sunrise
...and probably more as time goes on and my memory starts failing me...
Do read and review! Hannon le.
