Hey.

I'm Kate, known as Outsider KD on a handful of sites.

I'm a 20 something college dropout, but I plan on going back when I can do so without massive loans hanging over my head for years and years.

I'm not what you'd expect out of a Midwestern twenty something. I'm much more down to earth than most, and I tend to be told that I'm much more mature than others had been at my age. I say that a lot of the stems from the short amount of time I had to do a lot of growing up when I was younger. Numerous people my age have their priorities all screwed up, and they only worry about being accepted. I tend to focus on being true to myself, and I let the chips fall where they may.

I work a job with crazy hours, so my updates are pretty sporadic.

I've taken on a new project, To Thy Own Self Be True, which is pretty much all I want to focus on right now. It came to me at work one night, and I've managed to scribble out 25-ish chapters so far (as of 12/8/13). I'm slowly continuing work on this, and I hope to finally see a project to the end again.

The sequel to The Beast Within probably won't happen. I lost the want to write more in that arc. Sorry guys.

I have four completed chaptered fics.
Losing Everythingand Rekindling a Romance are Harry/Severus, and VERY OOC. They just came to me over the course of a couple weeks. They're really not all that great, and pretty packed with lemons. There's supposed to be one more part, but I haven't had the spark to write it just yet.
Phoenix Rising, is a three part story telling the rediscovery of Harry and Severus' feelings for each other. Again, it's not that great, and the first two chapters are purely lemon.
The Beast Within is my baby. It was a plot bunny that I was going to attempt as a longer one-shot, but it gave itself away to making a longer, multiple chaptered fic. It's a twist on an old plot, and since I've posted, there are a lot more Harry/Severus vamp stories, wherein Harry is the vampire. It's more angsty than my other fics, and the interpersonal development between the characters happened much more slowly than in the previous smutfests.

I have a few one-shots.
Vindicated is a random drabble-ish plot bunny I got after listening to "Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional. It's not my best work, but it's out there anyway.
The Awakening is the end of The Beast Within from Ron's point of view. Granted, it's rather short, it sort of ties up Ron's attitude and problems, while working out in the best way possible for all.
Harry, Are You Doing Okay? is another song related plot bunny. It's rather fast moving, so I may go back to it at some point and redo it into a three or four chaptered fic, to smooth out the details and such.
Lyrics to Live By is one of my favorite pieces. It's inspired by the range of music I listen to, and how much of it I could see Harry or Severus listening to. It's completed, though at some point, I may through a chapter up about a concert the two go to. It's also the first fic of mine to not have a rating of M.
Morningstar is a drabble I wrote after hearing the song "Morningstar" by AFI for the first time. It's pretty lame, but check it out anyway.

I have two fics on hiatus, permanently.
Venomous, is a plot bunny that I got from playing RockBand with some friends. We were playing, and my friend picked "Poison" by Alice Cooper. As I sang, I realized how well the chorus line would be for Severus having an obsession with Harry. This is currently on hold because I've managed to lose the muse for this. Hopefully it'll come back some day, and I can attempt to finish this up.
Facing the Demons is Harry/Sev, and the first part was meant to be a one-shot, but something about the way I could mold the story had me write the second piece. I hope to be able to pump out a few more chapters before too much time goes by. I'd like to see this one take on a life of it's own. My muse for this tends to be flighty. I can manage about a chapter a month, so hopefully that will work for you guys. Also, this is definitely becoming my favorite story that I've written. It's just different from everything thing else that I've ever written, including my horrid attempt at Harry/Hermione back in my freshman year. It's a lot of fun, and I hope you guys will enjoy it when/if I ever finish it.

I do enjoy story and author faves, but reviews are what really spur me to attempt to write faster. If you like a particular story, leave a review.

I enjoy reading Snarry (Snape/Harry), Drarry (Draco/Harry), and Snarco (Snape/Harry/Draco) above all, but I can tolerate other things if they peak my interest. I do occasionally enjoy Harry/Lucius. Harry/Remus, Harry/Sirius or Harry/Ron. I cannot stand the idea of Harry/Ginny or Hermione/Severus. I'm sorry, but Harry and Severus are meant to be!

I will say, the first night I stumbled upon this sight, I read a story that blew my mind. The Shadow of the Other by atypicalsnowman was the first Snarry that I read, and it was incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone.
