![]() Author has written 36 stories for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, X-overs, Doctor Who, Peter Pan, Leave It To Beaver, Malcolm in the Middle, Callahan series, Spider Robinson, and Fullmetal Alchemist. 09/02/17: My apologies. As a writer, I am on hiatus. It wasn't intentional. I am one of the older people an this site and I have retired early to become a caregiver to a friend who is disabled. As a result, my spare time to think and write has almost disappeared. I will post when I can. Until then, let me leave you with a quote from my favorite fictional character. "I am Groot." I once won an award. I said thank you. I was told to say more. I said thank you very much. MY name is Bob. I like Bob. It begins with a B. It ends with a B. Big round letter in the middle. I like to keep things simple. Favorite Quote (for now, at least): Try it. It taste just like snake. (From the graphic novel, FABLES. A woman trying to give chicken to a troll.) Favorite Pun (for now): Princess Potato wants to marry newscaster Wolf Blitzer. King Potato says she can't. (and you know the answer) He's a Common 'Tater. Favorite Movie: Casablanca. So many great lines. "Round up the usual suspects." "We'll always have Paris." "Yesterday they were just two soldiers. now they're the honoured dead." I am currently writing a Potter/ Who crossover. I'm drawing close to the end even though I'm only starting the fifth year. My opinion is that the fifth and sixth books are filler. Good filler, fun reading but I get the feeling that they were just to fill space. Unless I get lost on a tangent, they should pass quickly. As for the future, I have no idea. Maybe something from Fables, now that it's complete. Since I tend to write crossovers, I try to think of what would sound good. Or maybe stick to short stories. The Inn is always a good motif. People meet. They tell tales. Some are true. Some are not. One bit of trivia which will date this entry. I watched the newest episode of Doctor Who last night. The rescue officer tells the Doctor, "consider yourself . . ." He replies, "Part of the furniture?" She concludes, "Under our protection." The Doctor's line is from the musical, "Oliver". Go to you tube and type 'consider yourself oliver' to watch the scene. It reminds me of another time when Chris Eccleston as the Doctor (the episode that introduced Jack Harkness) faced an enemy who was a young boy wearing a gas mask who asked, "Are you my Mummy?" In one David Tennant episode, he's given a gas mask. He puts it on and turns to the military officer next to him and says, "Are you my Mummy?" (The Poison Sky) There's not much substance here, but that's the way I am. I've been around too long and made so many mistakes. It's mostly my fault. I tend to take things people say to me in too literal a sense. Unless I've already learned not to. Yeah, those are the mistakes. Did you know? Other people don't like being part of YOUR learning experience. Here is a serious note, out of the blue. Not really. And it's not a happy thought, either, so stop reading here and go back to the joke about chicken because I'm going to end on a downer note. It's about something I realized this when I was writing an earlier story about Draco Malfoy as an abused child who ran away. Maybe posting it will do some help. At least it might make you think about it. Do you know what the biggest problem is when you deal with abused children? They think they're normal. They often don't understand that they have a problem. This is true. They don't become disruptive until later, when they realize that everyone else is being treated differently. |
