Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson have been solving crimes in London for years. Sam and Dean Winchester have hunted since they were kids. When a particularly gory case heads in the direction of the supernatural Sherlock makes a phone call and Mycroft warily pulls the Winchesters from their current case in the U.S because Genius or not, Sherlock is no hunter.

Death visits Dean, Sam and Cas and tells them that an extremely powerful amulet, that was crafted from parts of the Deathly Hallows before they were destroyed, has been stolen- and he wants them to retrieve it for him before its new owner does any irreparable damage. They are sent over to England to team up with a world-class consulting detective, to help them find and destroy it.

John is nothing if not competent, thriving when he is needed. He resents it. After Sherlock's death he falls back into the depression Sherlock saved him from after Afghanistan. Then Sherlock returns amid dead torturers and John's clinical depression and the only real communication Sherlock seems to be able to have is of the very physical kind.

The Winchester brothers are called to investigate Sherlock Holmes' death, only to find Sherlock himself and assist him in finding the mysterious, alien Doctor.

Awoken by nightmares, John and Sherlock seek each other's company at night. They find more than either of them knew they were missing. - Johnlock implied; part 1 of my Solace series.
