![]() Author has written 8 stories for Torchwood, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Twilight, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Hello, a pleasure to meet you. Call me Raven, or Perception. I was once Raven Dagaz With of Shadows, but am now Temptation Through Perception. I do not own any of the books, TV shows, animes, movies etc. that I use in my fanfictions. They all belong to their rightful owners. I do not own any of their characters, and neither do I own the plotlines. I own nothing. This is merely me trying my hand at writing, and hoping for criticism. What has been said immediately before is now considered the generic disclaimer for all of my stories, in the case that I forget in the actual fanfiction. "Beware the one who bends but does not break, for he will snap back the hardest." I am in in school as of now, and live in America. My favorite gems are ruby and emerald, and I've at the moment gotten a penchant for insane renditions of characters. Also the really cool already-insane ones. I love reading anything imaginative, and well written. I'm still not sure if my own work comes under that heading, but...well, when I post something, I hope you will tell me whether or not. I also have a few problems with nonfiction, but I can survive the onslaught given in school as it comes. My own idea of writing is varied. I will write anything that comes to my mind, and that means anything. I do really like Torchwood AUs, but at the moment my tastes are shifting towards constantly reading many many many Harry Potter fics - most of which now completely revolving around Twin!AUs and darker Harrys. Harry Potter is also amazing. I don't really ship any pairings, but I've never liked Ron/Hermione, though it is alright in an AU for another pairing, for background, at least. Harry and Ginny are fine as parents, but I've found that I don't like the pairing in fanfiction. For some reason my mind makes a distinction of Harry/Ginny in the books and Harry/Ginny in fanfiction. Lily II/Scorpius has grown on me. A lot. Lily II/Teddy is alright...depending on how you depict Lily. I do like crossovers to Harry Potter...as long as the other side is going to Hogwarts. I've never understood why characters from Harry Potter would go to another place where they would meet the other characters, and I definitely don't get any sort of thing that says oh, this character is of course this other character's son/daughter or aunt/uncle or mother/father. I am very sorry, but I just don't get it. I love it when there are explanations for how something happens here. Simply amazing, and I don't know how people have found or thought up things like what I've seen. Percy Jackson is amazing! Simply amazing. But I just have to say this - Percy and Annabeth should never be broken up. They are amazing together, and they really should stay together forever. As well, unless Nico is older than twelve or so, pairings are an absolute impossibility. Now, if he is older...yeah, that'd be a cool idea. More about Percy Jackson pairings...I shall never have anything to do with a Rachel pairing. Impossibility for me unless in the books there comes some sort of loophole. If so, I shall also lose all respect for Rick Riordan. The truth. She's the Oracle of Delphi, and I don't think that Rachel's character can do anything about the purity rule for Oracles. I'm sorry. While her character seems rebellious enough, I think that she would want to keep the Oracle, at least until there is a new one. Though I love the idea of RED (Rachel Elizabeth Dare) beating up Octavian. Octavian deserves it. His prophecies are kind of weird if they have to come from ripping apart stuffed animals. Plus, I lost all respect for him when he told Mars that prophecies were supposed to be unclear. Addition: Rachel/Nico has made it past the Oracle Purity Rule without me losing respect for RR. That's actually amazing. Good job, writer of Death's Dare, greenconverses you converted me. Rachel/Apollo has made it past only - only if I don't get the whole story, detail after detail. Something sad, a little fluffy and sequenced with events works nicely. As well. PJO OCs are extremely easy to create. But while very easy to create, I hate it when they are extremely overpowered, or kind of silly, or basically Mary Sue in entirety. I do know that it is fun to make them though, I do it often enough. Nowadays I've found the beautiful pairing of Thalia/Will. For this - and only this - I'll bend the fact that she joined the Hunters of Artemis. If you can portray Thalia to have the reasoning something temporary - kudos. Oneshots seem to work well for this pairing, as it's nice to see the events, big and small for this pairing, by the fact that they probably wouldn't see each other much in the first place, except for the big things. Don't try to write this as a quest though - I can't imagine it, though if you really think so...well, try it, and maybe I'll find it. And another big thing. Fem!Percy and Fem!Nico. They seem to be huge things around here actually. Did you know that the pairing is almost always with Will Solace? Which I can completely and totally understand. Just please, please, these are the feminine version of characters. Nico has more leeway, but for Percy, he's not completely stone-cold. Now, if you want to play it that way, a good idea is to give it a reason. Percy Jackson is the protagonist and the main funny person of the series. He can make jokes. As well, Nico is still a kid in the books. He's not that old, unless you've changed the events some, and at the start, he's not that messed up. It's only when Bianca dies. Before that, he's pretty normal. Not that screwed up. Leverage is an amazing TV show. It works okay on paper as well. Psych is also an amazing show, but I've never seen anything other than a very short oneshot make it up to what I'd call a good fanfiction. I am sorry, but it should just stay on television. There, Psych is amazing. Past that, it is a no for me. Burn Notice is the same. Supernatural is beautiful. AN: I have now placed the Mortal Instruments series and the Infernal Devices Trilogy onto my favorites. They are amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Watch me read and reread and reread what I reread about Will Herondale. Oh. My. God. Will. And Tessa. Jace and Clary are also amazing in the books...but them in fanfiction, unless AU and OOC has not completely appealed to me yet. Unfortunately they are the only pairing that I have ever cared for within an AU, especially AH. It's odd...but they are still amazing within the books. And Will. And Tessa. Jem...you are amazing, but I feel that you killed a piece of my heart when I figured out that you loved Tessa in Clockwork Prince. You're still an amazing character, and I think that it helped everything...in the end. But Will and Tessa are the eternal wonder. They are perfect together. Like Percy and Annabeth, but it's made even more by the fact that they meet later in life, somewhat set in their ways and absolutely beautiful. The only thing I say is that Will is nothing like Jace. Jace is very much like Will, but Will is always his own self. He isn't like anyone. Another is that...well, Clary is alright. She is very well in the book, but I feel that she isn't quite...three-dimensional. She feels too much like a support character, while Jace feels so much more of a realistic character. While in the Infernal Devices, Will is the one with the supernatural weaving around him, the Mortal Instruments get to have Jace be real. Be broken in a way that feels not quite broken. Just as Will feels...there, but he's hiding. In plain sight, but he's real and right. If and when I put something up here, if you find and read it, please note that unless it is a oneshot (which I feel needs no furthering) I have very erratic abilities to write. That sounded wrong. Ah well, I just mean that I might get serious writer's block, or not be able to access the computer to add on. If I find something is incredible (or I think it is...for my writing) I will place it on here, but otherwise, I might drop out of the regularness very often. I am sorry. If and when I put something up here, if you find and read it, I just ask that there are no flames...unless you believe I truly deserve it. If so, please offer some constructive criticism as well as how badly you'd rate my writing. If you comment, I am sorry, but I may not be able to read it for some time. When I do, I will try to answer it...if I can figure out how to. But please, please comment upon the writing. I want to get better, so I can please all readers who stumble upon this (also so I can feel good about myself). Thank you! For anything, everything, including reading whatever you read of mine, be it even these words. Nemesis - Greek goddess of revenge, consequences, divine retribution, vengeance, and justice. How the male of our species became the apparent superior gender I will never know. The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they'll be when you beat them. Some people say 'if you can't beat them, join them'. I say 'If you can't beat them, beat them', because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise. If at first you don't succeed...go back and reload the gun. Some people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them. Just say no to drugs. Because if your drugs are talking to you, you've probably had too many. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. Stupidity killed the cat. Curiosity was framed. If the opposite of a 'pro' is a 'con', then what's the opposite of 'progress'? Last night I was looking up at the stars when suddenly I wondered..."Dude, where the heck's my ceiling?" It's you and me versus the world...we attack at dawn! Light travels faster than sound. That's why people appear bright until you hear them speak. When Life hands you a lemon, squirt life in the eye and run like hell. Be insane... because well behaved girls never made history. Your weirdness is creeping my imaginary friend out Parents spend the first part of our lives teaching us to walk and talk, and the rest of it telling us to sit down and shut up. Life isn't passing me by, it's trying to run me over. Falling doesn't hurt you--it's the immediate stop at the bottom that does. Smile! It makes them wonder what you're up to. Friends come, and friends go, but enemies accumulate (until either you or they die...or decide that we're all awesome). Truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense (at least it's supposed to). Power corrupts. Absolute power is kind of neat. Freedom is the right to be wrong, not the right to do wrong. Enjoy every minute of life. There's plenty of time to be dead. We don't live in the world of reality, we live in the world of how we perceive reality. Education is important. School, however, is another matter. Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to change it every 2 months. "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein If all else fails, destroy all evidence that you tried. The person who smiles when things go wrong has found someone to blame it on. Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Even if the voices aren't real, they have some good ideas. That which does not kill me had better run pretty dang fast. A wise man once said, "Ask a girl." Fighting is mind over matter. I don't mind, and you don't matter. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train. There are three kinds of people. Those who learn by reading, a few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to test the electric fence for themselves. I respect your opinion, I just also think it's stupid. It's not denial. I’m just selective about the reality I accept. Ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies. A clear conscience is usually a sign of memory loss. There are no stupid questions, just a lot of inquisitive idiots. We live in an age where pizza gets to your house before the police. They say the truth will set you free. Then why is it every time I tell the truth, I get sent to my room? Some people are like slinkies. They seem to have no purpose, but they still bring you a smile when you push them down the stairs. Love your enemies. It gets them really confused. So confused that they keep contradicting themselves. Then they do something so stupid that everyone around except for you think they're crazy. An English professor wrote the words, "Woman without her man is nothing" on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly. The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing." The women wrote: "Woman: Without her, man is nothing." (THE POWER OF PUNCTUATION!) I REJECT YOUR REALITY AND SUBSTITUTE MY OWN. I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman. I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights. I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room. I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me. I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again. I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear. I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman. I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male. I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men. I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that. I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual. I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me. I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind. I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love. I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male. Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Yes I am a supporter of homosexuals', bisexuals' and transsexuals' rights. (also a supporter for gender equality...) OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion, or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. A moment of silence. |
