Two California teens wind up in the Muromachi Period by strange happenings, and to their surprise they find themselves wrapped up in the story of Princess Mononoke. Now faced with the challenge of finding a way back home, the boys are left with little other option but to follow Ashitaka and act out the tale in real life in the hopes of finding a solution to their problem.
