Castle's just getting back from his six week long book tour and he's just itching to see them.

Post Cops and Robbers. Maybe it was his Mother sitting next to him on the cold Bank floor, it could be the knowledge that his daughter was waiting outside the entire time. Somehow he thinks it's more to do with the woman curled up on his couch like she belongs there...

Castle smiles, ruffling Ava's hair. She grunts softly but her little hands wrap around his back as if grounding herself to him, staying safe and warm. On the other end of the phone, Kate laughs, but there's something there; longing or regret and his eyes close. "You're not going to be home by midnight, are you?"

All we do is light it up all night.

The rain has lessened, she thinks inanely, clinging to the random scraps of reality that she can process as they zip and crisscross through her brain. Much less than the downpour that stranded them here, on the side of some highway in the middle of New Jersey. A season four story, set after 'Cuffed.' One-shot. NOT a Christmas story. :)

Written for the prompt: Drunk Beckett. Kate and Lanie go out on a girls night, and Kate has a little bit too much. Cue Castle doing the gentlemanly thing and escorting her home. Silliness abounds.

It's our dear Beckett's birthday, and Castle has some pretty sweet ideas for how to celebrate.
