Many years ago I was browsing JK Rowlings website. In one section of it she said if you wanted to find out about Crookshanks and what a kneasel is then you should buy her book.
Being a bit poor at the time I figured I'd have a sneaky peek online instead and came across the story "The Weasel and the Kneasel" by davesmom. That got me hooked on D/G fanfiction and I've been flitting about ever since.

Some time ago a plot popped it's way into my head and Ferrets and Weasels was born (it's still maturing, sorry for those of you who are waiting still!) As you can guess, I'm not very imaginitive when it comes to titles (you have no idea how much I struggle with chapter names!)

I've just started a new fic Duels, Fools and Yule (Still D/G, still a crappy title!) so I will now have to juggle my time between both of those stories, digital and traditional art, reading - and last but not least my wonderful husband (does a year and a bit count as a newly wed still??)
Stuff the housework though ;)

I love all kinds of science fantasy books and films (not quite as keen on Science Fiction. As I explained it to my OH I prefer magic, wizards and elves to starships, space and technology. Having said that I ADORE Dr Who...)
I'm especially fond of the Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia and all Terry Pratchett's discworld books; Tad Williams wonderful tales (Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series is my current fave) and Terry Brooks Shanarra books (my poor bookcase groans with the weight!)
That's just to name a few (suggestions for reading material always most gratefully received.)

I also love computer games, Wii, Playstation, PC, DS. Whatever really, but I'm awful at football games, strategy or shooting games (that don't involve zombies)! I love the Monkey Island/Broken sword type ones, and Mario & Zelda also rock!

I've recently been dabbling with some digital art and have a few pics up at deviantart, some of which relate to F&W, I'm hoping to do a few from other people's stuff that I've read, (hopefully some stuff from davesmom's stories seeing as she's kind of the reason I'm here!! But quite probably all of it will be D/G, what can I say, I'm obsessed!!)

Oh, and I ADORE fancy dress. Just about to work on my halloween 2008 costume - possibly I'll be a spider and I'll dress my husband up as a fly ;) (last year we were a succubus and incubus - we were playing a lot of World of warcraft at the time!)
Ideas welcome!

Hi all – I am truly sorry that it has been so long since my last update of either F&W or D,F & Y.

I know this is going to sound awful, but until recently, every time I went near any sort of writing I looked blankly at the screen/notepad for about 5 mins and then went and did something else… the last month or so I’ve actually done nothing creative at all – no pics, no writing, no reading - nothing… Not sure why this was but I’m hopefully back to normality now.

Anyway, this is just to say that I’m re-vamping Ferrets & Weasels. There are a few reasons why and I’ll explain them all then the first chapter goes back up. It will be the same plot, with lots of the same paragraphs and speech, but just going through the first couple of chapters I’ve added lots more stuff and hopefully enriched the story with lots more detail and believability (which apparently is actually a word – see I’m learning!!)

I’m going to get a good few chapters re-written before I update though, and might not be able to work on Duels, Fools and Yule at the same time (I will try but it's doubtful) so I hope you can bear with me and not give up on either story. I will finish them even if I’m old and grey with stiff and hoary fingers! (Although by then there will be some sort of technology which will just read my mind and write for me of course…)

Anyway – off I go to attempt some writing. Lots of love and thanks to anyone who has read/is reading any thing I've written - and thanks to all of you who reviewed so far.

Wow - a whole year has passed and I've updated nothing - nothing... how awful am I??
My lame excuses include the fact that I used to do the majority of writing at work (naughty! It was quiet though), and since my sister went part time and we got heaps more customers, I've not had a chance to write - I have the odd 10 minutes here and there, but I can't get into a story so I just go on Photoshop instead...
Also, my time outside of work I spend: helping out at a local club, cleaning, tidying and improving my house (with my husband of course), seeing my million relatives and outside of that I generally just want to chill and spend some quality time with my Hubby... I sometimes wish there were 4 more hours to the day - but then if there were I'm sure we'd just have to work longer hours so it probably wouldnt help!

I will admit that when the creative mood takes me, I have been doing a lot more artwork than I have literature (if you can call my scribblings that) and for that I apologise...
But I do still work on F&W and D,F&Y occasionally, I just haven't got enough of F&W re-written to warrant taking down all of the old story and putting it up again. I will get there eventually ;)
I've now used up the whole of my notebook and have a new one ready, so hopefully that bodes well - New book, New Year, New me, (who finishes stuff) ;)
The D,F&Y got to a really stupid point (in my note book) and nothing I can seem to come up with can redeem it; so I think I am going to scrap the last chapter I've written and maybe re-write the last published one too...

I also have penned a couple of other ideas for short stories which I will write up when (if) I ever get those 2 finished!! One very simple story (probably done a million times before) about a party in the Slytherin common room, and another featuring Narcissa quite heavily and how Draco deals with her increased influence in his life... I don't want to give too much away as I may change them a lot before I publish them (they're really just scraps of plot at the mo) but the ideas are there...

Anyway - I hope you are all well and don't hate me too much for leaving you dangling for so long...

Yes, I am still alive. Yes, I am still rubbish :(

Just to let you all know that despite the stupid amount of time which has passed - I am still writing (not too often, I work 6 days a week now, but whenever I can.) and I will do my best to have something up soon, whether it be new or old but revamped.
