He starts out slowly. Subtly. A light touch at the small of her back to usher her through a doorway. Grazing his fingers across the bend of her elbow to get her attention in the bullpen. Freeing the hair trapped in her collar after helping with her jacket. Small gestures of physicality meant to acclimate her to his touch, the feel of his hands on her body. One Shot. Complete.

My version of Castle and Beckett getting together, one of many. Set: S4, before "47 Seconds". At Beckett's place after a poker game with Espo and Ryan. Now the Gang has left and Caskett is alone. When a small spot changes everything.

After waking up in Castle's bed Kate panics and tries to cover up any evidence she had been there, hoping that he would wake up thinking it was all just a dream. Unfortunately for her Castle is a better detective than she gives him credit for. Now it's up to him to make her face her own feelings but given how stubborn she can be he's going to have to be a little creative.

The rain has lessened, she thinks inanely, clinging to the random scraps of reality that she can process as they zip and crisscross through her brain. Much less than the downpour that stranded them here, on the side of some highway in the middle of New Jersey. A season four story, set after 'Cuffed.' One-shot. NOT a Christmas story. :)
