After over a half decade at Shibusen, Soul is finally returning home to attend his brother's wedding, bringing his meister with him for moral support. When a misunderstanding forces Soul and Maka to pretend they are in a different sort of partnership, will it lead to fate or folly?

Boy meets girl. Or in this case: spotlight-hating, cool jazz artist Soul Evans meets famous actress Maka Albarn. Secretly, he is a total fanboy and she thinks he is kinda rude. They must work together for Soul's new video, which entails lots and lots of kissing, and Soul thinks he might just end up puking all over America's Sweetheart.

The process of getting from "you" and "me" to "us" is a long, hard, complicated one. A series of vignettes exploring the early days of Soul and Maka's partnership and the road from strangers to best friends. Chapter 14: Soul has a tricky time making the shift between being a sheltered child of wealthy parents and being an emancipated minor with a pretty tight budget.
