Author has written 1 story for Hunger Games.

Hi, I'm Riley. I like music and writing. I'm looking for good SYOT'S to join, so feel free to send me a link to yours.

Submitting Tips & Rules

Personally, I can't stand tributes that have super tragic backstories. Yes, there may be 1 out of 24 who don't have a happy past, but it's annoying and boring to have 24 tributes whose mommies died in child birth, daddies left them, and now live with their younger sibling who they work tooth and nail to take care of. I'm not saying your tribute needs to come from a happy, upper class family (sometimes tragic backstories can be fun to write!), just remember that not everyone is a sad orphan.

If your tribute is not from District 1, 2, or 4, you better have a good excuse as to why they're trained. And, no, saying their father is a Victor who wants his kids to be trained isn't an excuse. If you ask me, it's more likely for Victor who's a parent not to train their kid.

If you need help with naming your tribute, check out this guide. It's incredibly helpful!

Be unique! I feel like I shouldn't say this, but when I read SYOTs, it's easy to find tributes who are basically just copies of characters from the original series. Let's be honest here, the characters in THG weren't that great. You can do better!

I'd prefer if you don't use a recycled tribute.

No more than two tributes per person. Try not to do siblings, because the odds of that are just beyond impossible.

In terms of reviewing... I think every writer really loves to get feedback, myself included. How often you review won't really have an impact on how long your tribute lives, though I'll probably be annoyed if you submit a tribute to me and then don't review once. It's just nice to know that you guys are actually reading the story. I'm not doing a sponsor system, either.
