For all those that wish to care, I am female. Sorry to those that originally thought I was one of those rare males on the site that lurk around the debate forums. Alas, however, I'm a member of the massive female population on here.

If, by some freakish twist of fate or by scraping away at the dregs of Inuyasha, Metroid, and Naruto fanfiction from '06 you find the penname LadyPearlDragon, yes, that was me. And I still hadn't any stories up when I used that name, either. Believe me, you wouldn't have wanted to read anything from me back then. It was awful, but I have improved at least somewhat, thankfully.

Old pennames aside, I will move to the point. Yes, I am a writer, but I write almost entirely original fiction (which is not postable on here, see the ToS), and I'll probably never have anything up here for you lot to scrutinize. Collateral, Warcraft, and I Am Legend fandoms do hold some sway over me to write something drabblish, but that will likely never materialize, and even if I do, it will be under a different penname. I'm not stupid, folks. There are plenty of angry authors on here that would flame me for the hell of it because of some concrit I gave them from such and such time, rather than flaming for the actual shoddy content (though I hope my work is better than that).

I don't have to be a professional author with awards and half their books on bestsellers lists in order to tell someone that their badly spelled, OOC-ified, Sue-riddled, and illogical fanfiction is unworthy of 'praise' reviews. I do possess fairly decent grammar skills, a good sense of original canon, and I have the experience of two years posting anonymously and with an account to tell what's trash and what's good.

In any other situation, I'm pretty nice (sayeth the crocodile, grinning, I suppose). I only get snarky nowadays when I get snarked back at for something undeserved of such snarkage. I realize that there are indeed younger writers on here that are pretty ignorant of some requirements on writing here. Getting nasty with them doesn't help much, on either side, and being an evil reviewer isn't something precisely enjoyed.

And, yes, there is a difference between harsh concrit and flaming. Concrit, even the harsh stuff, tells you what's wrong with your fic, but does not attack you or those around you personally. Flaming, on the other hand, usually involves threats of bodily harm, etc. I use constructive criticism.

Editing is a very simple thing that usually involves having another person or yourself look over a fic with spellchecks and your brain to work out technical, plot, and character knots. It's not hard, and you will be thanked for doing so.

I also get angry at those that post original fiction on here when there is a lovely companion site for it. It's called fiction press.

http://fictionpress.com and there are also hundreds of other sites you can post original fiction on. Fanfiction Net is for fanfiction only, and fiction press is just as good as the one we're on now.

This will be the only time I will ever do a copy and paste quoter. Thanks to Stfu Noob for the wonderful quote/chain mailer.

Ninety-five percent of the kids out there are unconcerned by the dismal state of their education, or the fact that their fanfiction is raping the English language. If you're part of the five percent of fanfiction writers/readers who do care about such things, cut and paste this, and then leave reviews for those poor souls who know not what they do.
