Author has written 4 stories for Honor Harrington. NEW: If you want to talk about my stories, visit the forums at https://www.fanfiction.net/myforums/CrossesWithHonor/4591351/ Please don't post long anonymous critical reviews; since I have no way of responding to them, I'm going to delete them if I see them in time. Thanks. Although many of my works in progress are Honorverse crossovers, the first one I actually finished was a straight Honorverse story (so reviews are welcome, encouraged, and all that). I posted all of "Bridge Building" in one evening, but it took me a few years from start to finish to write it; don't expect me to drop another twenty thousand word story in one day any time soon. Having said that, the sequel is now finished, and the conclusion of that cycle is almost complete. I got a lot of writing done in about a six month stretch, and then slowed down a lot. The "Bridge" stories were not intended to be AU when written, but despite both "Bridge Maintenance" and "Bridge Opening" being set well after the last Honorverse novel, the direction Weber went with novels after A Rising Thunder progressively became inconsistent with my stories. My tentative writing schedule
Completed stories Honorverse "Bridge Building" - A system on the far side of the Solarian League from Manticore discovers a wormhole bridge that connects to the Star Empire of Manticore, and is forced to build new alliances if they want their plans for surviving the fall of the League to prosper. "Bridge Maintenance" - sequel to 'Bridge Building', starting one year later. Some forces on Earth want out of the League. Admiral Thenuwara watches over the creation of what's intended to be the first of the SLN's modern wall of battle. Rivendell has some new toys from their friends on Manticore and is building more. None of this makes the Mesan Alignment very happy. "An Offer She Couldn't Refuse" - AU as of War of Honor; Sonja Hemphill becomes First Space Lord for High Ridge instead of Janacek. Having somewhat more sane military policies only causes the High Ridge government different problems Works in progress (varying from a few thousand words written to a few paragraphs) Honorverse "Bridge Opening" - about two years after 'Bridge Maintenance', the Grand Alliance finally discovers were the Mesans are hiding, and it's up to the elves, the Thenuwara clan, and their allies to bring the conflict with the Alignment to a conclusion "Dark Honor" (may never be finished, as I don't know if I have the skills to write it well; really ought to be rated M and written by the love child of David Weber and Jaqueline Carey, and my writing is way more like Weber's than Carey's so there's a lot more fading to black than is really appropriate for the genre) - Pretty much completely AU from before On Basilisk Station; a considerably more ambitious and manipulative version of Honor deals with the events of the series, sometimes ending up in a better place, sometimes worse. Honorverse crossovers "A Slayer's Honor" - Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Honorverse - Buffy and Xander follow a vampire through a portal to Landing. No one off Earth knows anything about vampires. "Honor and Serenity" - Firefly/Honorverse. Mal & co. discover the Alliance has lied to them about even bigger things than they thought when they run into a Manticoran deep space survey ship ... Untitled Safehold/Honorverse story (may not be finished, because events in Like A Mighty Army explored a lot of the territory I was looking at) - A few decades after the main Honorverse stories, a wormhole through time and space to Safehold is discovered. Neither Clyntahn nor the Gbabba are happy to encounter the Royal Manticoran Navy. Wheel of Time "The High Queen" - AU where the White Tower reacted somewhat differently to the Foretelling of Rand's birth. Elayne/Mat; Rand/Bode Cauthon; Nynaeve/OC. Miles Vorkosigan "Pol" - AU where the attack on Cordellia and Aral that crippled Miles never happened. Largely a retelling of events in The Vor Game. Elena/Ivan; Miles/Ekatterin (who never married Tien, sadly butterflying Nikki out of existence; Miles and Ivan gain a bunch of siblings, though ...). Buffy the Vampire Slayer "The Boys are Back in Town" - AU/replaces season 6. Hank Summers had very good reasons for staying away from Sunnydale, no matter what his daughters thought. But when he didn't hear from Buffy for months and Dawn was being cagey, he didn't think he had a choice. Hank Summers/OC, Riley/Faith. |
