Seven years after Matthew married Lavinia, Mary is living in London. She has moved on with her life, but things are about to change in ways she never expected.

When Lady Mary dies at the age of 100, she is sent back to the beginning to 'make things right.' And she certainly does, with one hundred years of life experience, and most of the twentieth century under her belt, turning Downton―and its occupants―on their heads.

Years after Mary was framed and exiled from Downton by her jealous cousin Patrick, she returns in disguise along with Matthew, and a few other allies, to get her revenge.

They'd been a tightly knit friend-group since they met. Tom, Anna, Lavinia and Evelyn had been living nearby Mary in London since they left University. But when Tom needs a roommate, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed interloper moves in across the hall from Mary and Anna, and their group of five quickly adopts Matthew into the mix.

A sequel to Of Course It's The End, How Could It Not Be? - They know they've made a foolish mistake, but still they can't regret it. It was the end between them, they knew that, but what they'd shared would make the lives they must endure easier to bear. Mary and Matthew meet in the library late one night, and secrets kept for far too long come out, leading to discussions about literature, honesty, and hope for the future. S2 and Christmas Special AU - When Matthew returns to Downton for Christmas 1917, sparks fly between him and Mary, who is now engaged to another young officer and a familiar face. Despite the presence of their fiancées, the cousins can not deny the love they still feel. Will they be allowed to act on it, or will their hearts be broken all over again...

When Matthew sees something he shouldn't, he begins to think of things that he shouldn't... and, trapped by his own fear and the very object of the thoughts he should not harbour, his control begins to unravel. S2 AU, shortly after 2x04. Rating change to M!

A story about Mary and Matthew's relationship from 2.5 onward. It follows Matthew's daily struggles with life, Mary's struggles with Carlisle, and the struggles of their relationship. AU from about 2.6 on, though some of the plot will stay the same or very similar. Now complete, but the sequel is in the making.

Mary's got some confessions to make. Takes place during the dance in 2x08 and continues AU from there.

Matthew spends time with Mary again after Lavinia's death and months of self-loathing and pity. A step in repairing their broken relationship takes place on horseback and Mary's fascination with a certain scar on Matthew's back. Lengthy and Matthew-centric, two-part story. No series 3 spoilers.

Matthew had never really given much credence to meditation. This story explores Matthew's back injury and the healing process of his recovery circa February 1919.

A/U. What if Matthew rejected Lavinia's reappearance at DA when Cora advised her to come back. I was always dissatified with Matthew's acceptance in canon. He looked displeased, but JF never really explained. I think he should have sent her packing.

Basically my take on what Matthew's diary may have looked like from 1912 until 1920. Pretty much all canon, except for the bits in Manchester and later on in France and London.
