I always wanted to read the novels when I was a kid, but my grandma has always been a religious person and my mom was a little under her influence back then (thank goodness she isn't now). So that meant that I couldn't read the books or even watch the movies, all due to the stupid excuse that magic is evil and things that can't be explained or understood must be bad. So anyway, my mother finally allowed me to start reading the books at the age of 13 (around the time the fifth film was released in 2007). And let me tell ya the moment I started reading, I couldn't stop! I finished the whole series within a few months. The funny thing is that when I was a kid I hated reading, but yet the one book series I've always wanted to read was Harry Potter. I sometimes joke that if my mom had let me read the novel series earlier in my life, I would have done better in school. But ever since I read the books, I instantly fell in love with reading and later came to love writing as well. Every time I hear, see or just think about Harry Potter, I just have to smile. It has that big of an impact on my life, which is also why it's my number 1 favorite series. Got to see a double-feature of the 1st and 8th films in theaters, on Oct. 13th, 2016 during my birthday. It was great to see those films on the big screen. On IMAX! I'm a shipper of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. To be honest, I've never liked the romance in Harry Potter, to begin with. The Ron/Hermione love-boat never really got me interested, in fact I dare say I don't believe they're a good match for each other. The Harry/Ginny ship was completely out of nowhere, so don't get me started on that one. Not to mention Harry's short-lived romance with Cho was just a drag for me. However, I've found myself actually liking the idea of Harry and Hermione getting together. In fact, I really wanted it to happen, even to this very day I still do. There was just something there that made them both fit so well together, a piece of the puzzle that none of the other romances had. Where the fights between Ron and Hermione were out of spite, the fights that Harry and Hermione had were ones out of concern and/or plain frustration. But the real difference-maker is that they both understand where the other is coming from and have patience with one another. Just to get it out of the way, I believe Harry and Hermione should have ended up together. The end! Favorite Harry Potter installment is Goblet of Fire (including the movie). Least favorite would be The Order of the Phoenix (also including the book). Ranking of the Harry Potter installments from greatest to least (same ranking of the movies too):
Big fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender! In my opinion, it's my most favorite of all time. I love the characters, story, world, mythology, and also the fact that the series has a beginning, middle and end. Yeah, sure there are comics and a sequel series (both of which I love) that continue the story, but they feel more like after-thoughts and separate entities, while still being connected to the main stories. The people behind this show are great story-tellers and geniuses. I'm a big believer in the "R plus L = J" theory of Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire (sorry, the plus symbol keeps on being erased, so I had to use the word instead). I didn't really come across this theory until I finished season 5. I got so interested in the backstory of the series that I started reading stuff online. Well, I ended up running into a list of theories involving who Jon Snow's mother was. At first I wasn't really interested, because we had already gotten an answer from Ned (in the show anyway) that her name was Wylla. However, as I read over a few theories, I realized that it didn't make sense why Ned would tell his best friend this, when he refused to share the identity of his child's mother with his own son. So I began digging more into the mystery and I think you can figure out the rest from there. I'm hoping season 6 (or 7) will officially confirm this theory because lets be honest, we all know its true. ;) My favorite movie of all time is Back to the Future. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the sense of adventure. I just love everything about this movie. I can't name a single negative thing that bugs me. Marty and Doc have the best duo friendship that I highly look up to. In speaking of the film, I actually got the chance to see all three films in theaters, on Oct 21, 2015. It was an amazing experience for me. I went with some friends of mine and we had a blast. I can honestly say that my life feels complete because of that one single day. As you already know, I'm a fan of the Game of Thrones tv series and also the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series. My father was the one who got me into the tv show during its run of the second season. I didn't start reading the books until the end of season 5 (figured it would be best to start reading when the series caught up with the books). I consider the novel series to be my second favorite, behind Harry Potter. And the tv series is in my top 3 favorites (not sure what place it ranks in that order, still haven't decided). There aren't that many bands or singers that I like but there are a few. I mainly enjoy Daughtry and Nickelback. I love anything with a good beat and can get my attention, don't really care much for the lyrics though. oOo Just a fair warning, some of my stories are not all that great. My spelling and writing can be sloppy and terrible, not to mention cheesy dialogue and predictable storytelling. A ton of continuity errors can easily be found, including plotholes. So yeah, I highly warn you that what you read from my stories aren't award-winning stuff. I'll admit right here and now that I'm not that great of a writer. But writing is my passion and just telling a story (even if it's based on someone else's work) is what I do best, something that I love. I also apologize to those who are waiting for updates on certain stories that have been untouched for a long time (more specifically, the Peter Pan, Alex Rider and Count of Monte Cristo stories). I apologize for the long wait for seeing those stories continued, and as much as I hate to admit it, there is a chance I've lost interest in seeing through with those. I want to warn you that some of my already "completed" and "still-in-progress" stories are not very well written. Like I mentioned before, they are cheesy, predictable and have bad dialogue. Not to mention continuity errors and out-of-character moments. I've been wanting to go back and rewrite them, but I've since decided to leave them alone. Why? Well, as bad as they are, they are my very first stories I've ever written. And I like looking back at where I started and seeing the progression since then. Maybe I'll write an 'Updated' version of my one-shot stories one day, that way there will be two different versions to read from. But for my novel-length ones, I can't find the energy to rewrite them. While I can say that I've gotten better, please know that I still lack in some things as a writer. I'm still learning, a rookie in the game. But then again, I'm not looking to be the best writer in the world, I'm just looking to be better than my former self. oOo Just to let you know, I am doing a 'Severus Snape Series', which focuses on different stories involving the character of Severus Snape. They all comprise of Redemption, The Mysterious Traveler, The Unknown Hero, Serenity, The Guardian, and The Son of Gryffindor. I plan to do more, with The Daughter of Slytherin and The Lion & The Snake currently in development. There will also be a concluding, final story as well, but I won't reveal its title until all projects before it is done. All of these stories (with a few exceptions) involve the character of Severus Snape from the Harry Potter world, but in different scenarios of a similar idea. The idea for this series is similar to the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (or the Cornetto Trilogy for short), where all are separate, but share a connection. There is a Severus Snape in each story as the main character (except for The Guardian, The Daughter of Slytherin, The Son of Gryffindor and The Lion & The Snake), but none of them are the same, as they go through different stories and journeys. If you're curious about how to read these stories in a certain order, I highly recommend this way (once they are finished and/or released), but it really doesn't matter: 1st: The Son of Gryffindor 2nd: The Daughter of Slytherin 3rd: The Lion & The Snake (Hasn't been released yet) 4th: Redemption 5th: The Mysterious Traveler 6th: The Unknown Hero 7th: Serenity 8th: The Guardian 9th: The Final Installment (Which hasn't been released yet or given an official title) Redemption focuses on a young Severus reforming his life for the better at the end of his 5th year, while also dealing with secrets that involve his family's mysterious past. I like to think of it as a 'Harry Potter meets The Blacklist' kind of story. The Mysterious Traveler is about Severus being transported to the world of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', where he interacts with the main characters. This story will focus on an emotionally vulnerable Severus, who is completely struggling with his life and his situation. This story will dive a lot deeper into the humanizing of Severus. The Unknown Hero is about Hogwarts holding its own Wizard Tournament after the death of Voldemort and the dismantling of the Death Eaters, in a parallel world during 1977. However, the students and staff begin learning some dark revelations when a certain name is chosen as one of the Champions. I won't reveal any more, mostly out of fear of ruining the experience. I have some plans involved with this one that I hope works out. The Guardian is going to be a revenge story about two brothers searching for their parents' killers, but I'm not revealing anything else as the first chapter will explain more. Also, this will not feature Severus Snape as the main protagonist, though he will appear. Serenity was a last minute decision to add into my series. It revolves around Severus and a team of Hogwarts students dealing with the aftermath of Voldemort's death during 1976/77. I only wanted to do this one if I could tie it into the series as a whole, with a purpose for being here. I finally found that purpose and decided to go through with it. This story is loosely inspired by another story called "Twist of Fate", but it has since been deleted. Despite that, a lot of elements from that story will be in this one. The Son of Gryffindor is the second story that won't have Severus Snape as the main protagonist. In fact, he won't appear at all. It will revolve around a young wizard during the 11 century, who is sets out on a journey to make a name for himself, while secretly the son of Godric Gryffindor. The Daughter of Gryffindor (soon to be released) is about the heir daughter of Salazar Slytherin during the 11 century, who runs away to avoid the impending marriage that her father has planned for her. The story will not feature Severus Snape. The Lion & The Snake (soon to be released) is a love story between two heirs of opposing families, detailing their first encounter to their marriage. Also will not feature Severus Snape. |
