The blonde's thoughts began to race and she found that all moisture was lost from her mouth; she was struggling to swallow.

An appropriate time for the ladies to share dinner with one another had rolled around and passed slowly, and with the evening dwindling away, Emily was faced with the prospect that perhaps JJ would not be home until the very late hours of night, and that the most logical and only reasonable thing to do was to turn in for the night.

Emily's hand darted beneath the table again, gripping JJ's hand tight before the younger woman pushed her any further.
