So as part of my delayed New Year's resolution, I'm going to try and leave more reviews for all the super talented, and cool writers on this site. Though I don't promise I won't still slack with that, from time to time.

I really do admire the writers of fanfic who provide all of us readers with hours upon hours of enjoyment. Which they create for no other reason than being inspired by some work of TV, movie or what have you. I personally couldn't write stories and put them out there to be judged. You are far, far braver peeps, than I will ever be. So my blanket thanks (if I get behind in my resolution) to all the writers of fanfic out there.

That being said...homophones are tricksy, but they are not an insurmountable problem.

Waist is the middle area of a person. Waste is stuff that is thrown away.

Shutters are window treatments. Shudder is the physical reaction people have to things.

Mute is the inability to talk. Moot is a point that has been deprived of practical significance (from www.m-w.com on that one).

It's kowtow, not cow tow (or any variation that isn't kowtow). It's per se, not persay (or any variation that isn't per se).

And two, to and too, don't all mean the same thing. Ditto for their, they're and there.

When in doubt, dictionary it out. Remember, the interwebz is our research friend. It wants us to use it! and gets lonely if we don't. So love the interwebz, pet it, and call it George.

I mean we all make mistakes, I know I certainly have. But I like learning from mine, so please fanfic authors whom I otherwise love, don't hate me if I might point out when you make a mistake. Doesn't mean you don't still rock. I still worship at your collectively brave, fanfic writing altars (which by the way, isn't alter --to change).
