Author has written 8 stories for Elder Scroll series, Baldur's Gate, and Star Wars. NEWS: Everything you want to know about my fics is now on my LiveJournal, which I've decided to use after all. Click my homepage link to get there. (Never mind this anymore, it's as un-updated as everything else.) Words are a wonderful gift humanity has been given and I have every intention to make use of them. Just like many of you do. I often wonder, though, how many actually sit back and wonder in awe at the power and responsibility that comes with wielding this weapon, with administering this cure, with transforming the concept of 'word' into whatever we need at the moment. It is all a matter of perspective. What I see as black, you may perceive as white. Always shall there be conflicts because of this, but I would prefer compromise. Makes for a better world. As for everyone out there. Live your lives and form your bonds. It is too short a time to be wasted. Yes, I am an idealist... not that there is no cure, but I do not long for one. Cheers. "And malt does more than Milton can // To justify God's ways to man." - This must be the best quote I can remember. Ok, maybe not the quote itself, but the implications behind it. It's so true it's sad, huh? It's part of my favorite poem, belonging to Alfred Edward Housman. It's called "Terence, This is Stupid Stuff". About me. My name is Kyle. Yes, I'm a guy, despite what the female main characters of my stories suggest and will keep suggesting. Frankly, I have enough of being male in real life, so when I play video games, write fics or read books I find it much more interesting and captivating to experience a bit of "femaleness". For those of you who partake to the act of labeling people, you would call me a geek or nerd. I love to read and write, I adore video games, especially RPGs, and text role-play. I spend a lot of time online, have many friends around here and have once or twice gotten into a long-distance relationship. Your label, however, means nothing to me. It is but a single word faced with the complexity of a whole human being here, and I do not find "nerd" or "geek", or any other one word for that matter, sufficient as a description for anyone. I am highly intrigued by the human mind and the way it works, and I love nothing more than to gather several perspectives and points of view, then simply sit back and compare, contemplate and study them. That is why I make a good listener and probably a good place to find advice or some soothing words, too, or at least that's what I've been told. I'm open to conversation, just drop me a line. E-mail and PM permissions are given. My YIM (Yahoo Instant Messenger, aka Yahell) screen name is sanguine_debauchery . I use it for role-play, basically. A more OOC territory would be my MSN addy ( le_kyle@hotmail.com ), though I don't spend much time on there. I don't mind people messaging me about things and having long debates. Or just chiling and joking. Whatever. I'll be there. ;-) I don't read other people's novelizations if I'm doing one too and I'm not sure where it's going. I might get subconsciously influenced and copy some ideas without realizing I'm doing it. That's why I won't read a Morrowind novelization, where my own's purpose is yet unclear, but I will read a KotOR (1 and 2 alike) or a Baldur's Gate (also 1 and 2 alike) because I know where mine are going. I generally use unstable characters. I'm serious. I love them all: spoiled brats, wishy-washy weaklings who can't ever decide what they want, wistful dreamers, philosophers, non-conformist rebels; even psychotic maniacs, mass murderers and schizophrenics. Genius goes hand in hand with those in my view. As characters, I tend to like the anti-hero type. You know, the one that's not really skilled, but mostly just lucky. If ever anything turns out as they want it, be sure it's not really them that did it. Also, my characters tend to get picked on, mocked, annoyed by others or simply have their plans not work exactly as they thought. And guess what? Mostly, they don't realize that and think they're great. (KotOR: Morgana is an exception to this rule, of course, since she's supposed to be the brilliant Revan. But Thress isn't. Mwahaha.) KotOR related. I adore Kreia. There should be a Temple where people could go to worship that woman. :D. The way I see things, there's no KotOR 2 without her. I write on request. Normally, I do it for myself, but I don't really see a need to publish that. I originally wrote my Morrowind and Baldur's Gate stories and found a place to publish them online for a group of long-distance friends (You know yourselves, Dennis, Andra, Eve and Lloyd. Thanks.). My dabblings in the Knights of the Old Republic subsection began on the request of Arix Despana, and later BrynnDharielle, users from here. If you'd like me to write something, contact me and ask. If I've played, read, or seen the related original material of the universe, I will do it.I don't have a beta reader. At least not officially, though some of my friends occasionally get tired of waiting and ask me for the stuff before I've finalized it. Then, naturally, they start commenting and it sometimes happens to make me change little bits here and there. Other than that, I sort of beta the stuff myself, reading it again once it's done and adding or removing pieces. About My Favorites: The Favorite Stories list keeps track of mostly everything I really liked, but it does sometimes close an eye on typos and minor errors like that. Now, the Favorite Authors list is where I can whole-heartedly state you'll find excellent stuff. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful support. You all are great. |
