I recently re-watched one of my favorite episodes, "Many Happy Returns," and I got thinking about what Finch went through to set up that apartment for Mr. Reese. There are so many powerful emotions in that episode and I thought the interplay between that and a birthday celebration was fascinating. Here's what my muse had to say about it all.

Finch prepares to go on a suicide mission and dismisses Reese in an attempt to get him out of the way. But John has other plans in mind which include saving Finch even at the cost of his own life. However while he waits for the perfect moment he decides to settle some unfinished business with Carter. I don't own.

Captain Jocelyn Carter decides to hold a special Halloween party at the precinct. With Samaritan gone, the team no longer has to hide out in the open. After the events of the Season 5 finale, John finds himself floating in limbo, neither in Heaven or Hell and begins to accept his fate. Will a familiar face from his past be able to convince him that there is something better for him or will he not allow himself to be happy?

John is up late roaming the streets of New York looking, unable to sleep. Thankfully for him, Joss Carter is also suffering from the same problems. Nothing two friends sharing some stories and beers can't solve.

This Fanfiction takes place after the series finale. John Reese sacrificed himself to stop Samaritan. But he survived. And captured buy the few Samaritan operatives left. And those Samaritan operatives are trying to rebuild Samaritin. Meanwhile, Shaw, Lionel, Finch, and Grace (yes Grace!) continue to get more numbers from the machine.

Just a few short, sweet scenes with our favorite couple because even the most mundane of tasks can have their moments.
