The Facebook account is not my personal one, but the one I intend to use for stories. Like DeviantART, I have my art and relevant photos up there as well, alongside notes containing sneak peaks at stories- my own and fan fiction- and other things to do with this account here and my original writing. Updates regarding the status of stories- in the works or being thought out- are also there. ALSO! Here's a link to what I believe to be the absolute best Criminal Minds Moment of All Time!: Link Hello, everyone! Welcome to the wonderful, only slightly insane mind, of SearchingforLethe! So here are some facts about me, in case any of you are interested. I am eighteen years old and a recent high school graduate. I'm going to college for Criminology and will be clawing my way into the BAU, hopefully writing books on the side. Aside from Fan Fiction, I write my own original stories as well. It all depends on my mood and which way my juices are flowing. On the topic of writing, I am my own worst critic. Especially with the ending to stories. I try to write them first or earlier so that they aren't late to be posted because otherwise, I wrack my brain trying to get them perfect. The endings take the most time for me, as I am a strong believer in going out with a bang, not a whimper. I like reviews- constructive criticism is preferred. Flames accomplish nothing and nice reviewers, while endearing and inspiring, leave something to be desired. Reviews are important to me, solely because they can abate my own self worries and overly critical eye about my own work. Or, they can verify my concerns and help me to get better. Either way, they're great inspirations for me to continue! My genres in Fan Fiction are insane- they can be angst, romance, drama, humor, horror, general, parody; you name it! My genres for my own fiction are a little more reserved, however. I tend to lean more towards teen fiction and Coming-of-Age type stories, though I'm trying my hand at a crime series. If anyone is interested in hearing more about my original stories, just send a PM and perhaps something can be worked out where you could read snippets of it. Provided, of course, I get some constructive reviews, hmm? Fandoms I Plan on Writing For: Criminal Minds- I mostly write Reid-centric stories, as he's my all time favorite on the show. I might diverge from this trend though with a Hotch or Morgan story (my tied-for-second favorites). As it remains though, I'm a big fan of Reid and yes, Reid Whump. But one thing I hate is when Reid is written as a weak character- he is most certainly not weak! Reid Whump should be an opportunity to explore his strength, not exploit him. Giving him moments of weakness in the Whump stories is one thing, but making it the overall feel is irritating. My favorite pairings are: Reid/ Hotch, Reid/ Morgan, Reid/ JJ, Hotch/ Prentiss, and yes, I am a Morgan/ Garcia shipper, even if it is just playful banter. Harry Potter- Just like with Criminal Minds, I tend to be one-character centric in my stories for Harry Potter. Hermione is my vice, but I am working on several stories where she is not the main character- one of which she doesn't even make an appearance in! -gasp!- Hermione is a great character to write for, as she's one of the most in-depth, Heroic character the series has to offer. With much love to Miss Rowling and her wonderful work, her best characters are her villains, as the heroes tend to fall in the long-worn archetypes of heroism. Her villains, however, are delightfully evil. Bellatrix and Snape are my all time favorite baddies (though Snape isn't technically a bad guy...) and so I will also use them. Chances are, my Harry Potter stories will have Hermione, Bellatrix, Snape, or Draco in them. My favorite pairings are: Hermione/ Draco, Hermione/ Tom Riddle Jr, Hermione/ Lupin, Hermione/ Snape, Harry/ Tonks, Harry/ Luna, Lily/ Snape, Lily/ James, and Sirius/ Tonks Psych- One of the greatest shows ever made, I am convinced. Very funny, very relaxed, and just in general, a nice break from all the drama-angst of most crime shows. Not to mention the fact that the characters are so fun to write for. I actually am not much of a Shipper with this genre, though I guess I lean towards Shawn/ Juliet and sometimes, if it's done well, Shawn/ Lassiter. |
