for the most part, every one of my favorite books (with the exception of A Tale of Two Cities if I'm not mistaken...) has been on a 'most controversial' or a 'banned books' list. I suggest that everyone become aquainted with a banned books list and read as many of those books as you possibly can. They usually are the best books ever created.
