Not All Alkaline Waters Are Created Equal

The average municipal tap water contains a roster of chemicals including chlorine,

lye, benzene, dioxin and nitrates in certain levels, as regulated by the EPA. And,

these are just some of the contaminants that are regulated. The list of contaminants

in unregulated secondary drinking water includes agents that may ‘discolor the skin

and teeth' and include chloride, fluoride, foaming agents and sulfate.

bottled water and likely still has some type of home filtration system. The problem

is, both waters are acidic and contain questionable contamination levels.

Alkalized water – also known as ionized water – is water that has a pH of 8 or

greater. Anything less than a 7 pH is considered acidic. Acid causes inflammation

and inflammation-related illnesses are becoming an epidemic. Drinking alkaline

water has become the hottest health trend since the nation went gluten-free.

There's been a recent influx of ‘alkaline' bottled waters that have been popping up

everywhere from the high-priced organic chains to the bog box retailers.

But, it's not the real deal. These waters are created using a chemical process akin to

adding baking soda to tap water. It can wreak havoc on the body, causing a

condition known as alkalosis, where the blood is too alkaline.

Concord boasts the only location in the Bay Area that offers alkalized water free of

harmful chemicals. Tap Into Health – like a neighborhood watering hole minus the martinis – offers

ongoing seminars where visitors can shake it up on a whole body vibration machine

used by astronauts while watching lively videos evangelizing the benefits of alkaline

water. Tap Into Health is offering a free 20-day trial of energizing Kangen alkaline water ionizerand is

launching a new seminar series on Whole Body Vibration and Tumeric.
