Clary found Jace making a mistake he'd know to regret. She leaves, wanting a new life, and goes to an institute in Florida to leave the pain she felt behind. Clary changes; she has a new life and a new style, even a new boyfriend. Clary is wrapped up in her new life, enjoying it and herself to the fullest..that is, until some old friends come to visit.

Sebastian kills Clary, and makes Jace watch as penance for not joining him. Little does he know that Clary survived. She was rescued by a mysterious group of Shadowhunter from the future, who trained her for two years and gave her a disguise rune so she could go back to the Institute under a new name, and convince the world she's not Clary as Jace begins to fall in love with her.
