Caroline isn't exactly thrilled when she wakes up on a plane half way to Italy with Klaus. Despite her anger, she decides to make the best of it. How often is she in Italy after all? Back in Mystic Falls the race for the cure is on, but at what cost?

Caroline gets home from a semester of college only to find that Klaus too has returned. She attempts resisting his advances, but when a threat looms in Mystic Falls she finds herself seeking him out. In the forest with Klaus in Tyler's body Caroline has a choice. Push him away an unleash her righteous revulsion on him or play pretend and get what she can't deny she wants.

Without her humanity, Caroline realizes she's better off taking time off from Whitmore to escape any emotional triggers. Her road trip will have her discover the cities she's never experienced and inevitably drive her to New Orleans to set some things straight. - Post 6x18 on TVD and 2x22 on TO.

In the corner of her eye she sees Elena raise the stake for the killer blow and freezes in horrified anticipation.
