But when they awaken, they find themselves in a galaxy that knows only war.

Fleeing from the glassing of Reach in the belly of the Pillar of the Autumn, the crew of the SR-2 Normandy find themselves stranded with their UNSC allies on a strange Forerunner constructed ring world called Halo with the Covenant hunting them. But Halo holds a secret, one deadlier than both the Covenant and Reapers combined... and it's hungry.

The galaxy is vast, ancient, and dangerous. The younger races do not realize just how true this is. They are unaware of the giants that walk among the stars and the monsters that wait in the endless dark. But they will learn... or they will fall. For the next Age is coming.

Shepard thought that controlling the reapers at the end of Mass Effect 3 offered the greatest chance at bringing a lasting and happy peace to the galaxy, even if it cost her her own being. But it would seem that her story didn't end with firing the Crucible. This story is based on my other work 'Transitions', but is in a separate continuity. Rated M for violence, and language.
