![]() Author has written 2 stories for Stargate: Atlantis, and Dolphin Tale. Ah, the bio. I never really know what to put in these things. I am so simple, yet so complicated - to describe myself in a few paragraphs borders on the impossible. But, I digress. I am a follower of Christ first and foremost. Yes, I am most certainly many other things, but who I am grows out of that. Any talents I may have come from God - I take no credit whatsoever. How could I, anyway? Who just wakes up one day and decides to be talented? If you can't carry a tune in a bucket, you can't just decide that you are a phenomenal singer. (Just ask any of the judges on the millions of singing competition shows that are out there. Okay, okay - that was an exaggeration. There are only about a half of a million.) Basically, to God be the glory for anything good that comes out of me. All the bad stuff I totally take credit for. Yep, that stuff is on me. While I most certainly enjoy flights of fancy on Imagination Airlines (I am actually a frequent flyer.), I am a realist and know my limitations/failings. Trust me, I've got a lot of them! However, His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), so here we are. I am a.) an artist, b.) a writer, and c.) a budding musician. (No, this is not a quiz.) a.) I have a degree in Commercial Art, but tend much more towards Fine Art. b.) I write purely for the enjoyment of it, and to challenge myself. Many of my flights of fancy were for stories I thought may some day be worth the telling. c.) I can carry a tune (with or without a bucket), but prefer being a part of a choir to doing solos. I am teaching myself to play the ukulele (Ukuleles ROCK!!!), but I also own three guitars (acoustic, classical, and electric) that I play with little proficiency. (When I say budding, I mean the type of bud that first appears right after Winter. As already mentioned, I am a realist. Music is woven into my soul, however; I may not yet be able to play it well, but I certainly do feel it.) I have interest in many kinds of books, movies, and TV shows. In all truth, I have somewhat eclectic taste (this applies to music, as well), so the stories I write (and read) may differ widely. I think that makes things fun, personally! ;) Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary (Yes, they are separate - yet linked - entities.) are VERY important to me. (So, be warned! Haha!) I most certainly hold story ideas themselves in high regard (After all, what is a story without imagination and creativity?), but a story loses much appeal when it is riddled with grammatical errors - no matter how interesting a plot may be. | |||||||
