Astrid Skye Hofferson is as regular as a sixteen year old girl can get. If you ignore the part that she has thyroid cancer and a living grenade. Now she is being forced to attend the horrid support group, assuming that it's a waste of time and pointless. Then she meets Hiccup Haddock and he gives her something she will be eternally grateful for.

Hiccup and Toothless once worked together to make it appear that Hiccup can shoot fire from his hands. When an accident on a cursed island causes the trick to become reality, Hiccup hides himself away until he triggers a heat-wave that leaves the Barbaric Archipelago in flames. Determined to rekindle a forgotten friendship, Astrid sets off on a quest to bring back winter.
