This stand alone is written with back and forth scenes between multiple storylines (much like the show is written). The story features MerDer and Jolex primarily. Jo is assigned a new rotation, Alex is his typical comic relief throughout the story, and Derek insists Meredith take a morning off. Derek's idyllic time with the kids turns out to be more challenging than anticipated.

Ever since the winter break hiatus in Season 9, i felt the lack of MerDer moments regarding them, Zola and the baby. AU: Set in fictional Tuscany Valley, CA, this is a soapy tale of love, power and betrayal between two rival wineries. As heirs of opposing families, will Meredith and Derek be able to find their way to fall in love, or will they be kept apart by everything else going on around them? Inspired by "Falcon Crest" but there's no connection other than the setting.

Grey's Absurdity, given its now expected inconsistencies, led to the idea of this therapeutic story; concentrating on the siblings' and Meredith and Derek relationships. What might have unfolded if any type of common sense prevailed, with a glimpse at Derek's and Lizzie's immediate recovery and the relationship that might have developed between Lizzie and Meredith and Zola.

This takes place towards the end of 9x13, Bad Blood, but before the final scene in MerDer's bedroom and then carries on from that. I had wished there had been more Meredith/Derek interaction when the baby started kicking for the first time so this story was born. Enjoy!
