Shaw and Root after Samaritan goes down and Shaw comes back. Code names, baiting John, and surprise kissing. This is a continuous story, but I'm calling it a series of drabbles because (a) they're all short and (b) the tone varies more than I like in a single work.

The team goes undercover at another wedding which brings up some old feelings for Root but luckily Shaw is there with her this time.

It takes everyone a while, including Shaw herself, to figure out that Root and Shaw are a couple.

Set some time after 3x13. Root is back from her solo mission and she keeps having interesting encounters with Shaw.

It's not unusual for things to make Shaw angry, but Root makes her angry in unfamiliar ways. The "relationship" from Shaw's perspective. (her inverted commas, not mine).

Root and Shaw have a mission. A simple one. Infiltrate, find information, and get away unscathed. Best laid plans that... Well... At least Root can now count kissing Shaw as a mission write-off.

AU, set sometime before the pivotal elevator scene. An exploration of the dynamic between the Machine, Root and Shaw, and the relationships they have with one another. More information in the A/N at the start.

Set after season 4 finale. - Root and Shaw are on a mission together, but things don't go as stealth as any of them have planned.

Shaw knows a movie reference and Root doesn't believe that she is a modern person. Root convinces Shaw to go to a movie with her and she agrees to prove a point. Little angst towards the end but I'm a sucker for a happy ending. OR Root tricks Shaw into going on a date with her.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me." "Nice to see you too, Sam." Root said. There was a bruise on her cheekbone and she had a split lip, and for a second Shaw felt a sliver of worry rush through her, before it disappeared and made place for annoyance. or, how Shaw ended up in a holding cell with Root and why that is a very bad idea.

How would things have been different if Blair had spent the night in Chuck's suite instead of going home after their infamous limo ride? Season 1 slightly rewritten from "Seventeen Candles." CB, TV Universe. 'A Thin Line...' in progress! Chapter 8 is AC!

Root has a tendency to turn up unexpectedly in Shaw's life. Shaw's not really sure what to make of that. (Shaw POV, canon compliant, seasons 1-3)

Shaw rolled her eyes, wondering if the Machine had something to do with it or if it was indeed some sort of cosmic joke. The song was haunting her, punctuating every significant moment with Root like the terrible soundtrack to an even worse movie. "This isn't our song," Shaw cringed as the music went on, "not that I'm agreeing that we have a song, Root."

Shoot Week prompt: Established couple, years after Samaritan got their hands on Shaw. Root never asked the Machine about what happened to Shaw during that time, she's not sure she wants to know. One night, Shaw opens up.

"Being Her prophet used to be enough." A post 4.13 exploration of what lengths Root will go to to get Shaw back, and how her relationship with the Machine (and with herself) changes along the way. Canon compliant through 4.18, then deviates. Root/Shaw.

Root pops by somewhat unexpectedly in the dead of night to visit Shaw. Shaw is understandably irritated. Please review if you like. Might turn into a series if people like it.

shoot prompt: root is super flirty and such with shaw. shaw always rejects her. one day John tells shaw that root won't chase her forever and shaw tells him that she has no idea what he's talking about and to mind his own business. sure enough, a few days later root stops chasing and shaw realizes just how much she wants root. but is it too late?

Root is so good at getting Shaw to do things she doesn't want to do.

""I trusted you, Root." the smaller woman said between clenched jaws. She forced the sharp blade harder against Root's neck. A trail of blood started running through the blade as the skin gashed underneath its pressure." A story about the relationship between Root and Shaw and the teams fight against Samaritan.

Prompt: Root and Shaw are married and for some reason John accidentally sees Root naked and makes it his mission to flirt with Root just to annoy Shaw. And Shaw makes it her mission to make out with Root whenever John's near.

Somehow, Shaw muses, she should have anticipated this becoming a thing. But the first time it happens she doesn't think much of it. (Four times Root sneaked up on Shaw and one time she didn't.)

Root thought she had lost Shaw. But Shaw is alive. Shaw is here.

The Machine is on the cusp of bringing Samaritan down. Root is also reaching what she feels is the end, just as Shaw starts to think she might want a beginning. Angsty Root is angsty and Shaw responds like, well, Shaw. Rating K now for language, might change later. Title is from the song "Echo" by Jason Walker, inspiration for where Root is coming from emotionally.

Set some time after "Aletheia". Root needs Shaw's help for a mission, and a discussion occurs about possible ways to stop Decima and Samaritan. Oh, and a kiss... for the greater good, of course.
