Doctor Hannibal Lecter works as the head physician at Belvedere Hospital, both saving lives and taking them. One day, a patient arrives that changes everything; a man sent from the trenches, severely wounded and in desperate need of Doctor Lecter's medical expertise. The mysterious soldier intrigues the doctor, as he is not a he; but a woman masquerading as a man.

An exploration of how Starling might discover her "unfettered" self after a traumatic experience leads to a break in her psyche, and how she and Dr. Lecter proceed. Follows book canon until maybe a quarter into Hannibal. Warning: While I consider this to be a slow burn of sorts, it is a dark story about coping under extreme duress and involves torture.

James Stevens opened his eyes at five a.m. sharp, as he had done every morning since he first started service several decades ago, despite there be no longer needs for such accurate timekeeping after his retirement. He got out of bed, went through his ablutions, and sat down at his desk. He thought he would write to her, today. Takes place post-movie, a decade later.

Hannibal Lecter has been returned to Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane after failing to escape custody in Memphis and begins getting regular visits from Agent Starling, only not in a professional capacity.

Clarice is under house arrest and ordered psychiatric care after the events at Chesapeake Bay. Upon receiving an unexpected gift, she finds herself under attack from an Unknown Assailant and on the run with Hannibal Lecter.

Our favorite couple has an evening out at the symphony. You know you're going to love it.
