Author has written 1 story for Touched by an Angel. I created this account primarily to post Death Be Not Proud, a TBAA fic. Since it was a collaboration between me and Jane4God, I didn't want to publish it under my own ff.net account. I also created this for another reason. Jane and I "met" about ten years ago through the Touched by an Angel message boards. She'd emailed me about a story I'd posted, and it was downhill from there. Anyone who was part of the TBAA message boards in the late 90's/early 00's, and remembers Jane, will understand. In any case, we emailed each other on a daily basis, spoke on the phone a few times a week, and I even had the pleasure of visiting Jane twice, once in 2005 and again in 2008. She is one of the dearest friends I've ever had, and ever will have. In February 2008, on her birthday, Jane was admitted to the intensive care unit of her local hospital. Being damnably stubborn, she had allowed an otherwise easily-treatable illness to go unchecked until it turned life-threatening. In true Janian fashion, however, she fought back from near-death and planted herself well on the road to recovery--until one summer evening, when all the side effects and cumulative complications sneaked up on her from behind and overwhelmed her. She passed away on July 26, 2008. Life has never been the same, though I don't expect that it's supposed to be. Jane was a brilliant writer. Death Be Not Proud was our only complete collaboration. We started another story, but never got around to finishing it. We also wrote a couple of crossover stories around the idea of what would happen if Severus Snape, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and Alan Shore were at the same dinner party? in which we defined the parameters (someone has to die by the end of the story, and no discussing it until we were finished) and then wrote our own versions. Those were fun. So were the sequels. Jane also wrote other TBAA fic that I'll post here as well. No sense letting good fic sit around on a hard drive doing nothing, after all... It goes without saying that I'm not posting any of these stories to attract reviews. If you'd like to review, that's great; if not, great, too. We had plenty of reviews when we originally posted this to TBAA nine years ago. I just wanted to share the wonderful writing of an even more wonderful friend. I hope you all enjoy it. I miss you, Jane... |
