About me:

Hi there! My name's Kate, but here I go by the pen name Lily for reasons known to antiquity (ie, when I created this account ages ago). I have sense forgotten.

Back then, when I started 'Between the Lines' - my first fanfic of substance, GossipGirl was airing it's first Season and I was a 20 year old Sophomore in college on home from winter break. I had four years of Boarding School under my belt but had never spent a night in New York City. I was fascinated by the question the series had yet to answer - what happened during Serena's time at Boarding School that changed her? And in a flash, standing in my parents living room, I realized I could write a FanFiction about it.

9.5 years, 50,000 words and multiple writing hiatuses later finds the series over for four years but my story is still still half finished. I'm now 29, I live in NYC and am a recruiter-turned-business owner, with many more worldly experiences under my belt. I have four self-published eBooks and two novels under my belt, and yet I remain committed to finishing this project within a year... or give up the ghost and mark it abandoned forever.

2/7/18: Editing the first draft of part 1 (sofar published) of 'BtL' has commenced... Starting w/the authors notes on the prologue section.

1/28/18: The Epilogue is written. 10 years, 1 month, 1 day after publishing the first chapter... It. Is. Done.

1/27/18: Let it be known to the world that the last chapter is finished... Riddled with awkward sentences. But done. OMFG. Cracking open the champagne...

1/26/18 (II): Cracked the 50k mark! Lover's Interlude 3 is done! The last chapter has been started. I think it may be finished early...

1/26/18 (I): Chapter 20 is finished. Beginning Lover’s Interlude 3: the penultimate chapter. We have officially caught up to the Prologue scene. I can’t believe it!!!

1/19/18: Happy New Year! Chapters 17, 18, 19, and BF/GF Interlude II have been written! The manuscript is 44,000 words. As I start chapter 20, I pause for a moment in trepidation. This is it. The end is near. I am seeing the final arc ahead. Target draft completion date still aiming at January 31.

12/27/17: Between the Lines is 10 years old!!! Wow! Also, Chapter's 14, 15, and 16 have been written! Target draft completion date holding strong at January 30. Heading to the Empire Hotel this New Years Eve to Celebrate.

Official manuscript wordcount (FF.net Nano manuscript = 82,627)!

12/1/17: Greetings from Lake Taupo, New Zealand! Restart = success and chapters 11, 12, and 13 have been written! Target draft completion date now set at January 30th.
