Author has written 2 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, and Mass Effect.

Hello!

I can't promise to be consistent with my chapter updates, but I can promise my goal of finishing what I start. I have deleted content in the past (like, 10 years ago past) due to my own distaste in poor grammar, characterization, etc, but I drew a line to keep any content I've made, good or bad, posted for others to read.

History

"The Outcast:" For any that were around back then, I had the name "DaMentalTeen" and published a 3-parter of an Avatar: The Last Airbender FF titled "The Outcast." It included a young firebender OC that was met after the episode "Lake Laogai" that became an early teacher to Aang, a love interest for Toph, and joined the GAang in Zuko's place. This was during my dumbass phase when I thought Zuko was a terrible character while feeling that the series needed to include more interference from the Spirit World (this was just after the Book 2 finale, so I was shaken up by Zuko's decision then, and I am still glad The Legend of Korra fulfilled that itch of having that world more involved with spirits). Out of personal shame for my horrid thought process and horrendous writing, I deleted all three of the parts without saving any backup files. To any who are curious at looking at this monstrosity or to any who wish to refresh any nostalgia they have (somehow), I apologize that I can't find any traces of it. The only chance would be for me to completely rewrite the trilogy, but I no longer have the free time that I had in middle school and high school, nor do I wish to write a FF where my OC is more of a main character than the actual main characters (something I've grown to dislike). A revision of it and title it supernatural/AU? Sure, maybe, but the tone and approach would be far different.

The memories I have of the experience are not bad and are actually great; just the revisit I made years later. Starting on nick.com and posting my chapters under the limitation of the site's word count and finding ways to squeeze in chapters was a fun word-crunch experience. I can no longer find the ancient forums and boards on nick's website, so I'm sure the early chapters are gone, but hearing the default, immersive tune that played when I read opinions, reviews, and other fanfics will always bring fond memories of sitting at a table and laptop at 12 years old. My discovery of this website made be repost what I had to here and found freedom in posting chapters without a word count limit.

I still remember, however, of the one skill I had with that series that stood out and I will defend to this day: I nailed the character of Toph. Everyone else? Eh, it was fanfic quality from a young teen at best, but Toph was my one strength. Even a personal friend, when we viewed my content years before to cringe at our past, acknowledged that this one trump card I had was not false, so even if readers disliked the romance I had, let it be known that I at least made Toph a believable character from the cartoon if no one else.

I also remember a few good ideas I had. Poorly executed? Most likely, but I still liked the ideas. For a horror element, there was an old lady either possessed or enriched with dark spirits that kidnapped children and "stole their souls and stored them in urns" if they failed a test on the nature of the world and its current condition. It was very Blaire Witch-y, and it ended with the OC obtaining spirit-related powers of Light and Dark (ugh, I know) but it's one of the key elements I remember more clearly than everything else. When the group had spare time, there was a trip to a Fire Nation-occupied town fond of Earth Rumble that provided an excuse for the OC and Toph to go on a date/mandatory wrestling tour to show how it's done, and it ended with their identities being discovered and an unfortunate ending to the town and a bittersweet realization to the couple. That's how my mind remembered it, anyway. But the best part of it, as I remember, was my Saving Private Ryan rendition of the invasion of the Fire Nation by the combined forces of the world, making each chapter episodic and focusing on a different character's perspective as they each landed on the beaches under a hail of arrows and fire. It got gritty, but I did get a smaller version of it in the show, so I was satisfied regardless. I also remember that the series had one dedicated reviewer who commented on each and every chapter. I do not remember your username, but I do remember that you were at least the one person who heavily enjoyed the FF series all the way to the end. Thank you.

"New Team 7:" I also did a few chapters of a Naruto fic that is pretty similar to what the Boruto series is doing now: epilogue after the main series that was a series on its own about the next generation, but it was before when Naruto became Hokage. The new teachers for Konoha's ninja all consisted of Naruto and a few of his friends, and I had/have a good idea of 2 out of the 3 members of Naruto's squad's powers, looks, and histories. One was essentially the default anime protagonist look of brown hair, brown eyes, etc (ugh, I know), but he would eventually master the power of sound, including sonic booms for force and frequency for espionage after a brutal beginning of being not the worst, but the below average portion. The other was a dark-skinned girl with shoulder-length maroon hair tied in a ponytail that would master in taijutsu with some genjutsu to aid in her melee combat to make mirages, false movements, and cancelled moves (DEFINITELY the better of the two, IMO). But I had no end goal in mind for this FF; I just had the idea and wanted it out since the actual series has just about to start the Ninja War segment. The reception of the early chapters were positive, but as I said, no end goal, so that was scrapped even before my revisit.

My own Kingdom Hearts 3 FFThis never got onto the site, but I had a Kingdom Hearts idea of including Kairi as a fighter with Sora and Riku (she had her random moment in KH2, after all), and the majority of the beginning was spent on training her on combat and magic, all while Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were in the action/adventure bits exploring the less popular Disney worlds such as Song of the South and The Rescuers before reuniting with the actual KH OC's for Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and Toy Story. KH is FanFiction/Crossover heaven made reality, so of course I had a rough draft of my own version, but again, I had no end goal at all, so it was cancelled early, before there was even a title.

"The GAang and the Fire Nation School:" Of all the ideas I had and attempted, this one was the only one I left on my account. A random idea I had for liking a random filler episode in Avatar: The Last Airbender that few others enjoyed as much as I did. This one felt good to do and complete, and it's arguably my most popular bit. It got much more traffic than "The Outcast" and at least 5 times the reviews, and it is a short and sweet fic. Nothing too spectacular, nothing bombastic or AU about it, nothing too bold to challenge the canon series. Just an extension of what we had, a lot of fun, a little twist here, and it was finished. Still horrid grammar, surely, but I was smart enough to at least remain posted, and it will stay posted. As briefly mentioned before, even if it's garbage, it should stay posted, even if it's an example to new viewers and writers of how not to write. It's data, information. Valuable, both to me and to you! And if it's somehow entertaining despite me cringing at my own grammar and writing, glad you enjoyed it for what it was!

"Cherishing the Fallen:" Ongoing! After half a decade of life, I think I returned to writing as an occasional hobby to get my mind to vent. A ton of nostalgia of disappointment and lack of closure returned to me on the Mass Effect series following the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. I still love the game series; my all-time favorite, but boy, did it fail the landing in the third installment. HARD. (Side note: to those who felt empty and yearning for more in Mass Effect just like me, search for "Razor's Edge" and read all three parts of the series. If the game had a novelization, this is the closest we're going to get. It's fantastic, and the writing by the third entry in the trilogy rivals that of great authors who understand characterization). I have an end goal for this piece, but my challenges now are to TRY and update this on some type of schedule (failing hard at that one already) and to construct the bridge towards that ending. Constructive criticism is recommended, not just welcome. I do better when reminded of mistakes or inconsistencies. I do love praise and compliments, oh yes, but too much of that, and I start to think I'm god-like and let garbage start spewing out (IE: my cancelled Book 4 of "The Outcast" I remembered I left unfinished. Oh, dear lord).
