This story picks up where Phantom, the Protector left off. Jake is home from college for the summer and he and Sam are coming to terms with their feelings for one another. Sam shuddered as Jakes hand slid over her hip, up and onto her neck. He looked down into her eyes. He lent his head to one side and gently brushed his lips against hers. She smiled and crashed her lips into his. She had waited too long for this. Her hand slid up his neck to grab his hair. Her other hand took up the space on his neck. She pulled back and sighed against his lips.

"Let me, Jake Ely?" Now Sam's eyes were snapping with temper, her hands in fists on her hips. "Since when is it your job to "let" me do anything?" "Since every time you do somethin' stupid like this it feels like my heart is either going to fall down to my toes or explode, and I don't know why!" Jake threw up his hands in frustration.

Based on an event alluded to in Terri Farley's novella, Phantom the Protector. It's Christmas in Darton and Jake is coming home from college. A short one shot about Sam and Jake's reunion!

Jake Ely has returned home from his college in Elko, and Sam Forster had only seen him a couple times since then. One night at work, she receives a surprise visit from him. Although she appreciates Jake's company, Sam wonders what the purpose of his visit is. (one shot)
