I'm just a traveler on the road of life, admitting that though I have the parts that I would rather hide from the rest of the world, I have learned through my experience that while I may go on denying that they exist, they are still parts of me. I know that I long to be the hero, leading the epic quest on a journey to save the land. While I know that there are many others out there as well as me, I am a furry, and it scares me that if others were to find out, I would be treated as an object of disgust, the 'thing' that parents hide their children from, and that is scorned by the masses. I know that I am not the smartest person, or the most motivated, however, I know that at some point, something may come up that puts other people at risk, and I will not be able to do anything. I know that I am not the most 'stable' person, and it scares me to think that one day, I may just lose it, and hurt those around me. I am not the most social person, and I am afraid that I may die old and alone. I know that many people in my life respect and adore me, but I fear that they make fun of me and scorn me when I'm not around. I know that I put up the facade of the fearless hero, but it scares me that people will see me for the man behind the mask, the faceless shadow of a man, afraid of everything, to the point that he puts up walls around him, hoping to keep the monsters of reality at bay. I know that I have told many people that the reason I have swords and daggers are because I would use them to protect myself. What scares me is that the monster known as me may harm those close to me. I fear a great many things, but at the same time, I accept them as a part of myself. For what makes a man, truly a man? Not the end result of his deeds, but his resolve to get the job done, no matter the cost. To see his goals out to the very end. I may fear a great many things, but I know that I will see my path all the way through, for I may be a monster, but I am the monster known as me.
