I'm an aspiring writer out to make her mark on the world (maybe a smudge, even?), with a love for books. I've been writing since I was little (as is the common answer), but I didn't start seriously writing until my teenage years. Even then, I didn't start to consider doing something with what I wrote until a couple years ago. From there, I've been working nonstop on different projects and posting online by a penname I no longer feel the need to hide behind (that and I no longer know the login info for; funny how that works). It is that way I slowly honed my skills, as well as other ways.

Other than writing, I'm just living my life, trying to figure out the mystery behind it. I'm both a dreamer and a realist, and find outer space and the stars too be absolutely mesmerizing. If it were an actual option, I'm not sure which I'd choose: a writer or an astronaut. Perhaps both? But then, I wouldn't be able to see my fuzzy darlings on a regular basis. Obviously, I have a soft spot for animals and the environment. It is another dream of mine to open a no kill animal rescue center, but alas, it is probably one which will never come true. In the meantime, I will just have to do what I can to help them and take care of my own. The same goes for the planet. I abhor littering, and wish more could be done to save it. Documentaries about the planet are a favorite of mine.

Urban fantasy ranging from Adult to YA is what I love to read (though mostly Adult, weird since I'm growing fonder of writing Crossover YA), but I'll give others a chance too. Edgar Allan Poe forever has a special place in my heart, and I love great fantasy noves such as the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I have yet to finish Tolkien's work, but I am still a fan. Also, I love amateur writing. It's poppycock to say a writer isn't a writer unless they're published. They may have more errors, but they don't have a professional editor at their beck and call.

Admittedly, I don't watch TV much, but I enjoy TV shows about the supernatural mostly (though I love The L Word and what I've seen of Desperate Housewives) and a wide-range of movies. The only types of movie I find it difficult to enjoy are comedies and romantic comedies, the latter more so than the former. Mostly, I enjoy thriller/suspense, adventure, fantasy, some drama, action, and animated films--old school Disney are still the best.

The are a million other things I love and hate, but too many to continue to name. In the end, I am just a simple young woman doing what she loves, and living her life the best way she sees fit.

With that said, I will say this account is for the simple use of writing practice. Fanfiction is not something I do on a regular basis (until now, never), but after reading some words of wisdom from Mercedes Lackey, fanfiction is a good way to beat a writer's worst enemy, known commonly as "writer's block." My original works will come first and foremost, and you can even sample some at my blog by following the homepage link above.

Thanks,

KST.
