Well, older. 16 year old Finn deals with a new crisis in the land of Ooo, and starts to lose sight of why he keeps fighting; an old friend reminds him that there are things worth fighting for. Finn always knew life had its ups and downs, but he had learned quick that the key to happiness lay in getting up again. Marceline had been smacked down so many times, down became a kind of up in itself. Two fates, the last products of a wonderous bygone age, battle together for a reimagined destiny in the Land of Ooo. In a Highschool AU, Finn's parents are killed in a car crash. After this loss the young teenager goes into a deep state of depression, causing his grades to drop and his friends to leave. But when Finn is offered a chance to start over by his step brother, Jake, can he break through his wall of sadness and find a new life at Ooo high? Or will Finn's past cause him to lose all hope?

Finn has grown up. Or at least, he thinks he has because of his laid back attitude. Marceline starts hanging around him a lot more...is this just friendship, or could it be something more? [Author's note: Rating changed due to more mature settings in the future.]
