Author has written 9 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Silmarillion. Hello everyone! …. Right… Now what? I know! I will tell you a bit more about myself. Just don’t snore too loudly when you fall asleep. I am a perfectionist. I am terribly pedantic and proud of it (Hmmm… I wonder if they make T-shirts with that slogan…). ‘Eats, Shoots and Leaves’ is one of my favourite books… that should tell you something about me. And everyone who hasn’t read it, go and read it now! Especially those with extremely lousy spelling, punctuation and grammar. They are JUST as important as a good story, that’s what I feel. If you don’t agree, then well… I suppose you are entitled to your opinion. (damn!) But still, STICKLERS UNITE! Anyone? Anyone at all? No? Such a shame. Coming back to books, my favourite books are (I will only list a few out of the many, many, many books I like because otherwise it would take a few days to type them all up): Usually I don’t like movie versions of books. For instance, I preferred the books to the film versions of BJ’s Diary. As for the Harry Potter films… Let me tell you, thanks to the films, I now hear Hedwig’s theme in my head every time I open any of the books. Thankfully, I’ve only seen each of the HP films once, so if I concentrate hard enough while reading the books I can still picture the characters the way I want them to be, not the way they were cast. And now, they are going to make a film version of the HDM trilogy… God help us all… I’ve rambled on about books for long enough now. Something else I’m very fond of is poetry. All sorts of poetry, really, but I prefer older stuff. There are only a few modern poets that I like. Older poets? Shakespeare, Tennyson, Thomas Hood, Christina Rossetti (I absolutely LOVE her poetry), and many, many others. I also write some poetry, but it will never be as good as the poetry by all these poets. Okay, this has gotten too long. I don't think it's supposed to be very long. And to think I couldn’t think of anything to write at the start. I apologise if I bored you out of your minds. But you probably don’t mind, do you? I’ll bet all the sane people gave up a while back. Sorry… So I will end now, with a few of my favourite quotes: - “When I was a child, my mother said to me, 'If you become a soldier you'll be a general. If you become a monk you'll end up as the pope.' Instead I became a painter and wound up as Picasso." – Pablo Picasso Bye! Oh wait! I have a FictionPress.com account as well now! I've posted something there. It's not much: only some poetry, but if you have some time, give it a go and tell me what you think. The link is below: http://www.fictionpress.com/~narwenalmiriel And if you would like to email me, just to drop by a line, or to say something, or just because you're bored, then my email address is 'narwenalmiriel @ yahoo .co. uk' But take out the spaces first. And another thing, if anyone wants me to be a beta reader for their story, then just email me and let me know. I would be more than happy to. And (I really should stop, shouldn't I?) I have a Live Journal account as well! If you want to read some of my random ramblings on, then you can find me at: |
