Poll: Which Sonic characters do you want to see in my fanfics? Vote Now! |
![]() Author has written 6 stories for Godzilla, Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mickey Mouse & Friends. Hello all, and welcome to my profile. I've been here for a while, mostly just reading and reviewing other peoples' work. I'm working on a few different projects right now and have plans for many others, so I would appreciate any feedback that can be offered. So, if you wish to know about me... Meaning behind Screen-name: I chose the odd sounding screen-name "Ivo-goji" both in reference to my deviantART name, and my two favorite fictional characters: Doctor Eggman and Godzilla. As a contraction of the two names (Egg-Zilla) was apparently already taken here, I decided to instead use their "real" names, Ivo Robotnik and Gojira. Any true fan of the SEGA Eggman calls him Ivo, while Goji is a common pet-name for Godzilla among the Kaiju fandom. Interests: Writing fanfiction, personal journal writing, playing video games, reading fanfiction, pulp fiction and 'scientific romance' or in other words pre-space opera science fiction, fantasy fiction, Celtic literature and poetry (especially Arthurian material and the histories of related figures), giant monster cinema, Disney comics and animation, collecting knives and swords, collecting coins, camping and hiking, kite flying and construction, traditonal drawing though also leaning towards abstract art these days, occasionally I also write poetry. Fandoms of choice: Godzilla, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon, and Disney comics. Others of course, but primarily these. I've been on a real Sonic trip as of late. Favorite quotes: "This is Tokyo, once a city of 6 million people. What has happened here was caused by a force which up until a few days ago was entirely beyond the scope of man's imagination. Tokyo - a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world."- Steve Martin, Godzilla King of the Monsters "The arrogance of man is believing nature is within our control- and not the other way around. Let them fight."- Dr. Serizawa, Godzilla 2014 "I monitored your vital signs during the mission. Elevated heart rate, adrenaline, endorphins. You won't admit it, but at some level...you enjoyed stealing for me. It was a thrill, wasn't it?"- Slade, Teen Titans "You can't do this. I won't let you."- Ash Ketchum, Pokemon "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."- Optimus Prime "So, yeah Earthlings basically... um, end of the world!"- The Master, Doctor Who "I fleeeeew into the wild and fire! I danced in the flames and died a thooouuuusand tiiimes!..."- Dalek Caan, Doctor Who "DONT PANIC"- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "There are things you can't fight - acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, suddenly, you can fight the hurricane. You can win."- Raleigh Becket, Pacific Rim "A hearty blow drew sparks again; the shot went off, and I killed fifty brace of ducks, twenty widgeons, and three couple of teals. Presence of mind is the soul of manly exercises. If soldiers and sailors owe to it many of their lucky escapes, hunters and sportsmen are not less beholden to it for many of their successes."- Baron Munchausen "Princess Peach's sweet voice will soon be the bread that makes the sandwich of Cackletta's desires! And this battle shall be the delicious mustard on that bread! The mustard of your doom!"- Fawful, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga "What is this "A" I speak of? I assure you that if we are being watched from another dimension... Those beings will understand. But you lack the mustache for full comprehension.” -Bestovius, Super Paper Mario "If I was as good looking as you, I could run a different kind of business! Hehehehe..." - Poe Collector, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time "Kreega bundolo!"- Tarzan of the Apes "SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOONNNNNNK"- Godzilla "I’m the main character of this story. It is impossible for me to lose." -Collector Emil, Pokemon Platinum "Don't let the fact that I constantly try to destroy you lead you to believe I'm here to destroy you."- Dr. Eggman, Sonic Boom "What do you mean? Once Metal Sonic destroys the Land of the Sky, we'll be the only ones left! Then we'll get married and spend the rest of our happy lives together!"- Dr. Eggman, Sonic: The Movie "Then that means... the protagonist of this anime... will soon change to me."- Dr. Eggman, Sonic X "Wise words, spike ball! Why destroy Mobius? It would be like breaking my favourite toy!"- Dr. Robotnik, Sonic the Comic "Sonic… This impertinent, this contrary hedgehog; he hopes that my larger projects are always annihilated. But this time, the strength that resides in my intellect will crush him! Ha ha ha ha..."- Dr. Eggman, Japanese Sonic the Hedgehog manual "You might know everything I'm going to do, but that isn't going to help you because I know everything that your going to do! Strange, isn't it?"- Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic: The Movie "Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows."- Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Colors "I'll probably be on this floating island forever, guarding the Master Emerald once again. I may not know the whole story behind this, but perhaps it's better that way. I'm at peace once more." - Knuckles, Sonic Adventure "I will not be damned to eternal subordination towards that rock!"- Hyper Nazo, Sonic: Nazo Unleashed "Any objections, Adam?"- Samus Aran, Metroid: Other M "When Demise is finally gone, there will be no more need for the seal that binds him, and then I'll be able to wake up. So I'm going to ask you a favor, sleepyhead. Ever since we were kids, I'd always be the one to wake you up when you slept in. But this time, when all of this is over, will you come to wake me up?"- Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword "Here's the dope! Pete an' Trigger have some valuable papers they stole! An' they know I'm after 'em! So they deserted th' Legion an' hooked up with Yssuf Aiper! They're gonna swoop down an' attack tomorrow morning! They want t' get rid o' me so much that they'll murder more'n twenty men- just t' make sure o' gettin' ME... Ya'd never think I was that important t' LOOK at me, would ya?"- Lieutenant Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse Joins the Foreign Legion "I consider myself an even-tempered man, takes a lot to get under my skin! Well, congratulations, you just won the solid gold Kewpie doll!"- Commander Rourke, Atlantis: The Lost Empire "Nala, Nala, Nala, you know you really have no choice. One way or another, I always get what I want..." - Scar, The Lion King "I'm stepping away for a moment, boys! Change the scheme, alter the mood! Electrify the boys and girls, if you'd be so kind!"- Castor, Tron: Legacy "Beneath your dancing feet are the tombs of tortured men- thus does the Red Death rebuke your merriment!"- Erik, The Phantom of the Opera "There is only my way, there is only the forest, and there is only surrender."- The Beast, Over the Garden Wall "SEDA-GIVE?!"- Fredrick Frankenstein, Young Frankenstein "Give me your face!"- Optimus Prime, Revenge of the Fallen "Chick-bots dig the brooding-loner bit."- Thrust/Waspinator, Beast Machines "We're all gonna die!"- Rattrap, Beast Wars "Yessssss!"- Megatron, Beast Wars "I soon paid a visit to my friends, and related these adventures. Amazement stood in every countenance; their congratulations on my returning in safety were repeated with an unaffected degree of pleasure, and we passed the evening as we are doing now, every person present paying the highest compliments to my COURAGE and VERACITY."- Baron Munchausen "I gota jar of diiirrrt! I gota jar of diiirrrt! I gota jar of diiirrrt, and guess what's inside it!"- Jack Sparrow, Dead Man's Chest "When Dr. Evil gets angry, Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset. And when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, people DIE!"- Dr. Evil/Douglas Powers, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery "DO I MAKE YOU HORNY, BABY?!? DO I MAKE YOU RANDY!?"- Austin Danger Powers "I feel I was denied... critical... need-to-know... information!"- Burt Gummer, Tremors II: Aftershocks "The Chinese have a saying: To kill a coward is easier than trying to find a way to insult him!"- Tro Le Soung, The One Armed Boxer vs The Master of the Flying Guillotine "Nothing goes over my head! My reflexes are too fast... I'd catch it."- Drax the Destroyer, Guardians of the Galaxy "Fool! What part of "our planet exploded" don't you understand!?"- Vegeta, Dragon Ball Z "It's not pretty, being me! Just try it, and you'll see! It's harder than you think, to be a gooooorgeous mink! La de da, da de de, it's not pretty being me!"- Minerva Mink, Animaniacs "Remember, anything is possible... if it happens."- Oxnard Montalvo, Angry Beavers "Never trust spiritual leader who cannot dance."- Kesuke Miyagi, The Next Karate Kid "It's... a giant mushroom. Maybe it's friendly! FRIENDLY MUSHROOM, MUSHY GIANT FRIEEEEEEEND!"- Sokka, Avatar: The Last Airbender "There is nothing Mouse cannot steal!"- Sorata Muon, MØUSE "EEH!? WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!? It's like he's from some other manga...- Kagurazaka Asuna, Mahou Sensei Negima! "Well, well, here's something you don't see everyday. Only a few hundred metres below the ground of the school I attend everyday lies a fantastic thing like this... haha... I imagine that for something like this to continue to exist it would require an immense volume of food in order to support its giant frame. Since it doesn't appear to have any wrists, I suppose it would be a wyvern? That would mean it's not so strong- that is to say, I wouldn't know about the strength of- What the hell am I saying?"- Ayase Yue, Mahou Sensei Negima! "Is this some kind of quack call?" I remember Krisel (foolishly) asking. It took a bit of persuasion, as he was reluctant to add another duck to the Disney stable of superstars. But I told him that my hardball haranguing of horrendous hoods would catapult me to that coveted canardian point of culmination! He said, "What?" I said, "We'll push the ratings through the roof!"- Darkwing Duck, The Making of a Superstar Or How I Saved Disney and the World "Betrayal may come easily to women, but men live by iron-clad codes of honor."- Jet Black, Cowboy Bebop "Why don't you tell me you can do these things you do!?"- Steven Universe "TREMBLE! BOW DOWN TO YOUR FEAR!"- Martyr Sasha, Seikon no Qwaser "Don't underestimate the limitless destructive power of giraffes!"- Kaku, One Piece "I'm a magical princess from another dimension!"- Star Butterfly, Star Vs The Forces of Evil "Surprise!"- Toffee, Star Vs The Forces of Evil Favorite Movies: Godzilla franchise (especially the Showa series, Godzilla vs Biollante, and Godzilla vs Destroyah), the Star Wars saga, The Dark Crystal, The Secret of NIMH, Pokemon 3: Spell of the Unown, Pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Pokemon: Destiny Deoxys, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, The Phantom of the Opera (1925), Pacific Rim, Digimon Adventure: Our War Game, King Kong (1933), Alice in Wonderland (1951), Iron Man, The Princess and the Frog, Aladdin (and it's sequels), Young Frankenstein, the Tremors series, The Host/Gwoemul, The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut, John Carter, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Toy Story 3, Pirates of the Caribbean, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles Forever, The One Armed Boxer vs The Master of the Flying Guillotine, Austin Powers films, Svengali (1931), Jungle Book (1942), Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, Up, The Incredibles, The Emperor's New Groove, the first Planet of the Apes films, Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, The Muppets' Treasure Island, Real Steel, Osmosis Jones, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Karate Kid films, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Taken, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service Favorite TV Shows/Cartoons/Anime: Teen Titans, Soul Eater, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Batman Beyond, Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Justice League/Unlimited, Dragon Ball/Z/Kai/Super, Hey Arnold, Digimon Adventure/02, Digimon Tamers, The Nanny, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Beast Wars/Beast Machines, Darkwing Duck, Johnny Bravo, Pinky and the Brain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex/2nd Gig, Cowboy Bebop, Sonic X, Spider-Man the Animated Series, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Gargoyles, Samurai Jack, Beware the Batman, Adventure Time, Pokemon (particularly the DP seasons and the XY series, though I pretty much love the entire show), Transformers Prime/Beast Hunters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003-Back to the Sewer era), Talespin, The Legend of Tarzan, Gravity Falls, Totally Spies, Zorro (1950's series), Duck Dodgers, Kenan and Kel, Space Dandy, Kim Possible, Phineas and Ferb, Blue Exorcist, House of Mouse, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, One Piece, Animainiacs, Steven Universe, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Hellsing Ultimate, Star Wars: Rebels, Kill la Kill, Star Vs The Forces of Evil, Inuyasha/The Final Act, Sonic Boom, Aim for the Top! Melee, Epic Mickey, Sid Meyer's Pirates!, Spyro: Year of the Dragon Favorite Authors: Sir Arthur Canon Doyle and Edgar Allan Poe (though I'm more fond of their science fiction than their more well known detective stories- granted, I enjoy those too), C.S. Lewis (again favoring the author's less known science fiction work- and in general, Lewis has had a big impact on me), J.R.R. Tolkien, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Jules Verne (can you tell I have a thing for early science fiction?), L. Frank Baum, J. K. Rowling; on the comic book side of things, Keno Don Rosa, Carl Barks, Floyd Gottfredson, Paul Dini, Frank Miller, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird; on the televsion side of things, Greg Weisman, Dwayne McDuffie, Genndy Tartakovsky, Paul Dini again, Alan Burnett, Tad Stones, James Michael Reaves Favorite Bands and other artists: Crush 40 (of course), Creature Feature, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Powerman 5000, The Seatbelts, Teddyloid, Yōsei Teikoku; as well as more classical artists such as Tchaikovsky, Edvard Grieg, Mussorgsky, Carl Orff, Akira Ifukube, Gustav Holst, etc. Favorite soundtracks: Sonic CD's Japanese soundtrack, Sonic Adventure's soundtrack, Sonic Adventure 2's soundtrack, Sonic Advance 2 & 3 & Sonic Battle's soundtracks, Metroid Prime's soundtrack, The Legend of Zelda: Skyword Sword's soundtrack, Pokemon's video game and anime soundtracks- favorites: Gen III, Gen IV, Kanto League (Japanese), Johto League (American and Japanese), Hoenn League (Japanese), Unova League (Japanese), Sinnoh League (American and Japanese), Mewtwo Strikes Back soundtrack, Spell of the Unown soundtrack, Arceus and the Jewel of Life soundtrack, Gunbuster's soundtrack, Bruce Faulconer's DBZ soundtrack, Kill la Kill's soundtrack, Ghost in the Shell S.A.C.'s soundtrack, Space Dandy's soundtrack, Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack, Mirai Nikki Inspired Album and soundtrack, the Witchblade anime's soundtrack, Batman the Animated Series and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm soundtracks, Godzilla's classic musical score, Godzilla vs Destroyah's soundtrack, Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla's soundtrack, Godzilla Final War's soundtrack, Godzilla 2014's soundtrack, the Star Wars saga's score, The Hunchback of Notre Dame's soundtrack, The Prince of Egypt's soundtrack, The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, Over the Garden Wall soundtrack, the Monster Musume character albums and associated music Favorite Crush 40 songs: Never Turn Back, Open Your Heart, Sonic Youth, and I Am... All of Me. I also really like their covers of With Me and Free. Favorite Sonic songs and music by other artists: Theme of E-102 by Fumuie Kumatani, E.G.G.M.A.N. by Paul Shortino, Team Chaotix by Gunnar Nelson, and A Ghost's Pumpkin Soup by Hunnid-P. Favorite Characters: Godzilla- who else? Anguirus- my second favorite giant monster. Everyone loves the underdog! Mothra- elegant yet powerful. Probably the kaiju with the richest backstory and personality. Dr. Eggman- Well, this one is obvious. Dr. Ivo Robotnik is probably my favorite fictional character on the whole. I pretty well like every incarnation of Robotnik across the many different versions of the Sonic universe, though my favorite is unquestionably the original. Knuckles the Echidna- He's always been close to being my favorite character in the Sonic franchise after Eggman. Some of the best fanfics I've ever read, and the stories that really got me into reading/writing fanfiction, were about Knuckles, so he's got a special place in my heart. Sonic the Hedgehog- Poor Sonic seems really under appreciated, for the star of his video game series. And he's so cool too! E-102 Gamma- My vote for the most developed character in the Sonic franchise; certainly the one with the most tragic and moving story, and that's a title with more than a few hard contenders. Even if he was only really himself for one game, that single appearance was unforgettable. Vector the Crocodile- Gosh, I love this guy! Probably the most 'realistic' Sonic character, or at least the easiest for an ordinary person to relate to. He has terrible breath, listens to music 24/7, and is always late to pay the rent. We're all Vector the Crocodile sometimes. Amy Rose- Unsurpassed optimism and determination in the face of any challenge, fueled by a passionate heart burning with fire that can't be put out. That, and a really big hammer, can take on the whole world without fear. Big the Cat- This guy gets it even worse than Sonic. People just loath him. Yet he really does embody the spirit of everything Sonic, aside from being so slow. He's laid back and takes everything easy, keeps to himself and enjoy the simple things in life. $crooge McDuck- So awesome he's managed to surpass the popularity of his nephew Donald is some countries and so wealthy you can't spell his name without a dollar sign. $crooge is in many ways the measuring stick by which I judge other fictional characters. The picture of The Richest Duck in the World drawn up from his appearances in media ranging from comic books to video games is a very complete one; you can ask almost any question about $crooge McDuck's personality, views, goals, etc. and get a straight answer from SOMEWHERE in the corpus of Disney Duck stories. That's how well developed he is, and that is the kind of depth I look for in characters from other settings. Mickey Mouse- A sadly underrated character these days. I love the Mickey Mouse comics and the cartoons that feature him like Runaway Brain and House of Mouse. I wish Mickey had more respect, it's a shame that such an important, iconic character isn't taken seriously like some of Disney's other properties. Kusanagi Motoko- Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite franchises, and the Major might be my favorite female protagonist. She's very captivating, deep, intelligent, capable, and admirable. She's the best at what she does, yet her team does more than just make her look like a good leader. She pushes the limits of what defines a human being both physically and psychologically, yet she never forsakes her own humanity. She does unbelievable things, yet remains very relatable. Of course it can't be forgotten that the Major is an anti-hero; she does a lot of morally questionable things in the name of justice. Still, she is never motivated by self-interest or personal vendettas, but rather by a desire to do what is necessary for the greater good, even when the price is high. I think what makes Motoko most interesting though is her role as an explorer, a pioneer on the frontiers of human experience, seeing and becoming things that have never been imagined before. Bruce Wayne- The DCAU interpretation of the Batman is the best in my opinion, at least when it comes to capturing how he was depicted in the Golden Age of comics, and not just stylistically. What the creators of the Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League got right that I feel most other interpretations of the character don't really nail down is that Batman is motivated first and foremost by compassion. In many of Batman's other appearances, it seems like his main drive is pure revenge. Yes, there is an element of vengeance, that is the primal force ultimately responsible for Bruce Wayne's transformation into the Dark Knight, but the real reason he goes out every night to risk his life is out of love for his fellow man. Batman was born from tragedy, but Batman lives to prevent tragedy. Ash Ketchum- Another protagonist who doesn't get enough love from fans of his franchise. If they ain't hating on him then they turn him into something he's not in their fanfics. People should appreciate Ash for who he is, because he's pretty cool. He's also another character where I feel fans overemphasize the less significant parts of his personality and forget what is really important to what makes him tick: compassion. Too many fans seem to groan endlessly over his performance in meaningless tournament arcs when Ash saves someone's life, helps a person fulfill their dreams, or touches another soul with his big heart nearly every episode. How can a tournament victory compare to that? Ayase Yue- By far my favorite Negima! girl. She's very intelligent and philosophical, in a way that is unique among the many child genius that appear in fiction; she has a charm that is all her own. Yue's voice in the story adds meaningful perspective to all the fantastic situations and romantic entanglements that befall the 3-A crew, who often take the bizarre setting for granted. And she's really, really cute. Seriously, her default expression is Swadloon's face. Swadloon are adorable. Tatsumiya Mana- Exotically beautiful, dangerously skilled with her IMI Desert Eagles and other high caliber firearms, as well as a stone cold badass among the already badass cast of Negima!, Mana is just plain cool. Various personality quiz results: Magic: the Gathering What Color are You? White; You value law, order, community and light. You love to protect the social order and the rule of law. At your best, you are just and protective. At your worst, you are authoritarian and dogmatic. Your symbol is a sunburst. Your enemies are black and red. Which Sonic Character are you most like? You're Eggman! Now why the hell would they call you that? Oh well. You're a gentleman, you're ridiculously smart, and you can invent basically anything. Why wouldn't any woman NOT love you? Maybe it's the evil genius thing. Dr. Eggman 94 Knuckles The Echidna 69 Cream The Rabbit 63 Shadow The Hedgehog 63 Miles "Tails" Prower 50 Sonic The Hedgehog 31 Tikal The Echidna 25 Amy Rose The Hedgehog 19 Rouge The Bat 0 Which Godzilla Character are you? You are Kumonga, AKA Spiga, the giant spider. You are scary and creepy. People run when they see you, and you like to trap people around you with more than just your offsetting personality. Kumonga 94 Godzilla 63 Anguirus 63 Ebirah 56 King Ghidorah 50 Mothra 44 Rodan 44 Baragon 44 Gigan 31 Hedorah 19 Which D&D Character are you? I Am A: Chaotic Neutral Human Wizard/Cleric (1st/1st Level) Ability Scores: Strength-10 Dexterity-9 Constitution-11 Intelligence-14 Wisdom-17 Charisma-13 Alignment: Race: Primary Class: Secondary Class: Find out What Kind of Dungeons and Dragons Character Would You Be?, courtesy of Easydamus (e-mail) Fanfiction personality type: The Mindgamer Everything is possible, nothing is ever really over. Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one. You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met? You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies Current Works in Progress: The Child of the Desert has been put on a (hopefully) temporary haitus. Ripple Effect is the my main priority at this time. It is in the same continuity as Other Voices, something that will become more apparent later on down the road. The next chapter will bring in Amy and reveal what happened to that officer at the end of the first chapter. This story is also being posted on the Chao Island website forum somewhat in advance of its updates here, along with other items relating to it. So far this is shaping up to be my longest project. Finding Home is my most recent story, my take on how Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse became friends, set in the Disney comics universe. I promise I'll finish this story eventually, though it's taken a backseat to other projects at the moment. I've began serious work on a Sonic story that I've been tinkering with for years. Actually two stories, both part of the background of the Ripple Effect/Other Voices continuity. I'm not sure which one I'll post first but I'm making it a goal to have the prologue of one fic out before the end of April. |
