Post Avengers With Loki back in Asgard to stand trial, things are put on hold as deceit and lies take center stage in a coupe against Odin and Thor and war looms. And none of these are Loki's doing, the trickster is the only one who can stop it.

Thor and Loki's journey goes awry, and Thor learns that just because he is powerful doesn't mean he can always be the protector. In which Thor realizes that to be strong is to know defeat, and the worst battles are not won by blood.

Loki's plans on Midgard are halted by an unexpected interference and he finds himself at his former home, left to deal with his regard for Thor, Odin's wrath and the revenge of the Chitauri. Rated M for later chapters, contains mild slash and some violence/torture, not graphic.

Thor brings Loki and the Tesseract to Asgard and returns to Earth only after promising to return for Loki's trial when the time comes. In the meantime he tries to navigate Earth's foreign customs and not kill his teammates who insist on treating him like a small child rather than the god and prince that he is.

Written for a prompt on Norsekink. Instead of going to Odin for answers, Loki travels to Jotunheim to find the truth of his heritage. It will be a quest of self-discovery, long and with many trials, but he must know the truth that the All-father denied him.

After several miraculous strokes of luck Loki somehow finds himself hiding from guards in Thor's bedroom, hoping he won't be discovered for escaping his imprisonment.
