Hello --

Well, this has been a rather stressful year. I've been dealing with the loss of someone very close. Although it was a few months ago, I know that it's affected me on many levels. So that's the main reason my writing has been sporadic. I've felt as though I couldn't really settle to anything. However, I am feeling more confident that I can return to more happy things in my life.

And for anyone who doesn't know, I'm Solo Lady, and that pen name has nothing to do with either Star Wars. It has entirely different meanings for me, including the fact that I'm happily single.

In the past, I wrote a lot of fanfic; but it's been a long dry spell and I'm a bit out of practice. But Ashes to Ashes has changed all that. Gene Hunt just does it for me. Loved him from the moment he offered the old lady some pink wafers in the Life on Mars first episode. And I especially love that he's met his match in Alex Drake. They're perfect for each other.

I love reading the Ashes to Ashes stories posted on FF.net and I'm way behind on reviews.

Other favorite shows include Castle, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Flashpoint, The Simpsons, Leverage. I also watch Downton Abbey, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, Hot in Cleveland, Happily Divorced, Ringer, Awake, New Tricks. Yes, I watch way too much TV.

My favorite books are mysteries, with Rhys Bowen being my favorite author (love her Royal Spyness series). I also read Lee Child, Donna Andrews, and Jasper Fforde. And I love Harry Potter! Severus Snape is my favorite character.
