Caroline and Kate, from the very beginning. Sally Wainwright is responsible for creating the characters, I'm just filling in the gaps. From Chapter 15 on, it's morphing a bit into what I would have liked to see happen for C&K.

After writing 'A Long Way to Arrive at a Kiss', I got to thinking that it might be a good idea to write a similar piece detailing how Kate found that same period of time. So, here it is. The title is taken from another exquisite Neruda poem...because it seemed appropriate.

Fictional future scenarios in the McElliot lives but based on quotes or part quotes from Caroline or Kate from the actual TV series in an attempt to subvert or change the original meaning...or maybe even show that they've moved on! As usual the characters are not mine, they belong to Sally Wainwright & the BBC but I will attempt to play nicely and leave them 'unmarked'.

I haven't written in a looooooong time but Last Tango in Halifax and in particular the characters of Caroline Elliott and Kate McKenzie have inspired me to try to imagine what happened after Ep6, S2 ended. The characters don't belong to me but to the immensely talented Sally Wainwright - I hope she won't mind me borrowing them & I'll try to leave them pretty much as I found them.
